Over the next few days Raine had barely spoken to Symphony, they had caught the vampire that killed Raine's father and turned Symphony. Raine had been non-stop torturing him and it was getting him nowhere. He pushed Symphony away and would only talk to Steven, completely ignoring her. She had grown tired of his games and told him so one night after dinner.
"I don't know what your issue is but if you really want to be alone and deal with this I will pack my bags and head home since the threat has been taken care of," she told him "I am here to help as much as I can and you have completely shut me out. I can't do this anymore you need to talk to me about things like this." Raine was silent and just stared at her. He didn't know what to say to her because he knew she was right. Symphony had had enough of the silence and went to their room and started packing the clothes that she had brought with her, tears streaming down her face. She wanted to reject him after today, after all, they had been through with the vampire hunt and then being able to find out how the Rogues attacked and now he wanted to treat her like she didn't exist it wasn't fair to her.
While she was packing she didn't notice Raine had walked into the bedroom. He stood watching her not realizing that she was serious when she said that she was leaving. He knew he had been a jerk toward her since they found Raymond, the vampire that had killed his father, and turned her. He had been so set on getting answers for both of them that he didn't let her know what he had found out. It killed him to see her pack but he knew he might not be able to change her mind so he just sat on the bed and waited for her to come out of the closet. To say she was surprised to see him sitting on the bed was an understatement.
"What do you want? You didn't want to talk to me earlier but now you want to talk now that you know I am serious about leaving?" She asked him. "Look do you think that I wanted to push you away, to not talk to you while I was interrogating Raymond? Raine responded "I had no choice. He would have used you against me and you know it." "I don't care what he would have done, you shouldn't have shut me out. Now if you will excuse me I am leaving." That was the last thing that Symphony said to him as she shoved past him and out of the house. He tried to stop her but she wouldn't listen. She had enough of everything and she wanted to go home and see her parents.
Luckily, she had brought her car with her so she didn't have to walk home. When she got there no one was home for which she was thankful, she wasn't ready for the concerned look on her mother and father's faces. She went up to her room and it was just how she left it. She threw her bag of clothes in the corner and went to take a hot shower, she needed to clear her head. She got out of the shower when the water had gotten cold. She changed into sweats and curled up on her bed and started crying. No one had realized that she was home at dinner time and was surprised when she had come down to the dining room.
"Hunny, when did you get home?" her mother asked as she quickly grabbed another plate for her. "Are you ok, sweetheart?" her father asked and pulled her into a tight hug. Even her brothers were concerned as they started asking her if she needed them to beat anyone up for her, she laughed at that thought. She sat down with them and ate dinner, happy to be home. She helped her mother clean up after they finished eating and went to head up to her room. "If you need anything sweety just let me know." her mother said as she walked out of the kitchen "ok I will mom". She made her way back up to her room and as she opened her door she was surprised to see Raine sitting on her bed.
"Get out," she said to him "I don't want to see you or even talk to you right now" "We need to talk Symphony and you know it just as well as I do," Raine said to her. She turned away from him trying to hide her tears as they started to stream down her face. "I need space Raine, after the last few days since we found Raymond, you have wanted nothing to do with me. I don't care if he could've used me against you, you should have known better than to shut me out. Do I have to worry about you doing that to me again?" She said to him as she sobbed. He went to wrap his arms around her because his heart broke to see her like this, knowing that he caused it. "Don't touch me Raine" Symphony told him sternly "I am going to tell you for the last time GET OUT I will contact you when I am ready to see you." He just stood there "Do you really want me to scream and get my brothers in here?" She asked him as she took a big breath ready to scream. Raine walked toward the window that he had come through and turned to look at her "Take all the time you need baby, I am not going anywhere, just know I am truly sorry for hurting you" That was the last thing he said to her as he jumped out of the window. She ran to her bed and hugged her pillow sobbing uncontrollably. How could he be so clueless she thought to her self I guess it's time to start doing me again and try to ignore him for a while. She fell asleep crying.
