“Oh my God! Aaahhh!” Irene shouted in panic as she ran away, seeing what fell into the ventilation shaft overhead. A rat. A big, fat one. Her screams of terror were suddenly followed by Aina and Raven, who immediately went behind Irene to hide. “Aina? Seriously?” Selene asked, her brows furrowing. “I thought you were a marine biology student, and you have basic knowledge about the animals here. So, why did you also run and hide?” As Selene asked that question, Selene’s tone was laced with confusion and disbelief. “Like what you said, my course is marine biology…” Aina muttered, her gaze fixated on the rat, which was steadied in front of them. “That species doesn’t belong in the ocean.” Aina didn’t hate rats, to be exact. What she hated the most were the memories associated with it.
