A few hours later, it was already in the middle of the night. The fire began to fade, and they began to retreat into the bunker one by one.
“Make sure to get a good sleep every time we have a chance, everyone,” Irene reminded all of them. “We can’t afford to be sick. We don’t even know what’s waiting for us when we leave this place.”
“Aye aye, Captain,” Raven teased, doing a playful salute. “Come on, everyone. Let’s go to sleep.”
Everyone stood up except for Aina.
“Guys… is it okay if I stay here for a while?” she asked, her tone low and pleading. The exhaustion was also evident in her voice. “I just want to be alone with my thoughts.”
She added, “In exchange, I will clean all of this, and will be on the rotating watch for tonight.”
The silence filled their conversation for a moment
