Jackson walked away, looking at Raven, who stood there for a moment with her chest rising and falling fast. The part of her skin that Jackson touched earlier was still tingling.
The heat between them lingered like a fire refusing to die.
‘s**t,’ Raven cursed in her mind, shaking her head. ‘Don’t think about it too much. Stay focused.’
And acting like nothing affected her, she followed Jackson as he wandered further into the forest.
Her eyes stayed locked on his back while her mind pondered different things.
Whatever that was between the two of them, that wasn’t over yet.
