“And we need to do everything so we can go back to the shelter,” Jackson said, his tone low and firm, as he looked at Irene intently. “Our previous shelter.”
Everyone looked at Jackson upon hearing those words. They didn’t expect that statement to come from Jackson’s mouth, especially not after they abandoned the shelter as they ran from those cults.
“Ah, I forgot that we have more problems than these weird creatures,” Irene said, remembering the man they threw into the sea back then.
She added, “Do you think those people are still chasing us? Or do they know that what happened wasn’t an accident?”
“We’re not sure…” Raven answered, biting her lower lip. “But still, we need to be careful with everything. If there’s something we can’t do here, it’s to trust other people wholeheartedly.”
