Elisa was about to knock when the door opened, and she looked both surprised and delighted to see Alanna.
"Hello, darling, I was just looking for you! I heard you and Sonde got caught by the lucky spotlight. Wow, Sonde didn't waste any time bringing you to a room!" she said, winking at Sonde, teasing him about his decisiveness.
Sonde's lips curved into a slightly warning smile. "This is your party. Have fun, but don't go overboard. Be careful not to push things too far."
Alanna didn't want to get involved in their squabble. Her goal was to complete her hunter mission and gather information for the orphanage. Owen was nowhere to be seen, and when she tried calling him, he didn't answer. She had a bad feeling about this. "I have things to do, so excuse me."
