I rose to the surface that morning, eager to go to the theater early. Eager to see Alexander. I thought I would have a free afternoon, walking in the city. I would be working as bait for the mermaid murderers, and at the same time, I could check if Alexander were free for the day.
I had a lot of plans.
Fig wasn’t too happy about letting me walk on my own. He said he would try to trail me as much as possible without being noticed. I wondered what disguise he would wear for the day.
