Chapter 2: Saved

It was the time for school discussions and Addie couldn't concentrate as she tried her best to keep away from disturbance. She could sense that the window keeps on creaking and the wind was heavy. After a moment, the window banged closed that made her she stood up making all of her classmates looked at her. The professor also stopped from his discussion and gazed at her. "Professor, can I ask your permission to go out?!" she suddenly said. Her professor nodded allowing her. She ran out of the room and walked for a while breathing deeply as she could while sensing a very strange aura surrounding her again. She felt uncomfortable after breathing so hard. The air was heavy as if her weight doubled. She walked quickly feeling that there's another footstep following her. Her sweat run down her cheeks as she raced with the steps behind her. All the sudden, her body heaved and she lost consciousness. *** Addie opened her eyes with a bit of daze feeling her head in pain. She looked around and found herself lying on the school's basement. The bulb blinks on and off as the darkness starts to manifest shadows. Her eyes widened standing up as she tried to walk, but a hand suddenly pushed her unprepared so she fell. She turned her head back and saw no one. For the second time she stood again and now, wanting to avoid the prank she thought she's in, she ran. She looked around finding her way to the only door leading to the exit. The bulb blinks quickly now as the warmth turned hotter than what she recognized earlier. Her heart beats faster as she finally a stairway up. She's not sure if it's the exit or not, but she should probably try so she ran making her way up the stairs. When she was near the door knob, a hand suddenly pulled her waist back down behind her, she lost her balance and rolled down the stairs back to the basement floor. Her arm aches and she could sense that its beginning to bleed feeling that it flowed down inside her sleeve crawling through her skin until it dropped to her finger and land on the ground. Everything turned different. The basement doesn't have any windows or holes but the wind still passes through her, drying her sweat. For her second attempt, her knees shivered as she stood weakly feeling the painful hit of the stairs. She roses up slowly then looked around her. And when she found no sign of anything that might grab her down again. She looked back and quickly sprinted up. Reaching the door successfully, she held on to the knob and tried to open it, but her effort was left hopeless. The damn door was locked and she can't open it inside. The strong fear devoured her now. The bulb suddenly popped scattering on the floor like a broken glass giving the basement room a total darkness and the strong air blew greater making for her harder to breath. Then there came out the darkness was a darker shadows of cloak figures with scythe. She could say that those are reapers from what she's heard over the descriptions of those kind of creatures of any case. It was getting near! She could see it. She leaned on the door closing her eyes helplessly as she compressed herself together. She was scared... The shadow figure's hand was near a hand that have sharp long nails and dark skin. It was inches away from her nearly touching her nose. 'this isn't real...' Addie thought as the door opened and a hand pulled her to the waist out of the basement slamming the door close again. She opened her eyes. She was facing the door and the presence was normal again, but still she felt the arm around her waist. She looked beside her and saw Blade was kneeling there and facing the door with his normal blank expression. "You alright?" He asked with a formal voice. Remembering the horrifying minute she had inside the darkness, she shrugged and suddenly hugged Blade surprisingly as she cried feeling all the fear and pain she had for the passed minutes. He just let her. She cried almost half an hour when Blade finally decided to sigh (he's not breathing the passed minutes). As he placed one of his arms behind her knee and the other to her back carrying her up like a bride as he started walking away from that door. "W-wait, what are you doing?" Addie asked embarrassed. "I'll take you to the clinic and ask you things afterwards." he straightly said as the school bell rang for break finding that students who started coming out were giving a glance at them for the moment until they reached the door leading to the clinic. The doctor bandaged her scratches gently as Blade stood beside the door leaning to the wall crossing his arms while closing his eyes. He was waiting for her until she's completely wrapped with bandages. After that, they went out of the room and walked to the hallway silently making their way out of the building... ____________________________________________________ Death was always been the headline of news.
