In a cozy living room on a sunny afternoon, with a pregnant woman, Sarah, sitting on the couch, and her husband, John, sitting next to her. They are both excited and nervous about the upcoming arrival of their baby.
Sarah: (smiling) Oh, John, I can't believe we're finally going to meet our baby soon!
John: (grinning) I know, me neither! I've been thinking, and I'm convinced we're having a boy.
Sarah: (laughing) Oh, really? What makes you think that?
John: (confidently) Well, the baby kicks so strong, it's gotta be a boy!
Sarah: (chuckling) That's not necessarily true, dear. Girls can kick just as hard as boys.I would love to have a girl who can help me with the house chores
John: (teasingly) Oh, come on, Sarah! You're not going to tell me our little athlete in there is a girl, are you?
Sarah: (smiling) Actually, I think it might be! (playfully) And what if it is? Would you be disappointed?
John: (quickly) No, no, no! Of course not! I just... (pauses) I don't know, I've always imagined having a little boy to play catch with, I guess. I want the baby to be a boy so that we can go hunting together.
Sarah: (gently) I understand, but we'll love our baby no matter what gender it is. And who knows, maybe our little girl will be the next queen of this town .We need a better queen than the one we already have.She and the king are devious and cruel.A change will be better and my daughter can bring us that change All our sufferings in this town will come to an end once and for all
John: Yeah, and if it's a boy a king .A good king of course.we are tired of this oppression ,all our harvest ,our wages,our lands have been taken from us hmmm,God knows when we are going to be free from this b*****e.
I have been thinking of the names to give .....
Sarah: (excitedly) Oh, me too! I was thinking maybe Emily or Rosalinda for a girl...
John: (interrupting) And for a boy, I like Jack or Max...
Sarah: (smiling) Those are great choices, but let's wait and see what our baby has in store for us!
[As they continue talking, Sarah suddenly gasps and clutches her belly.]
Sarah: (excitedly) Oh, John! The baby just kicked so hard!
John: (excitedly) See, I told you it's a boy! (laughs)
Sarah: (laughing) Maybe, maybe! (smiling) But seriously, I think it's time to go to the hospital...
John: (supportively) Its isn't time yet,I thought we would be expecting our baby next week why now .I can't believe the baby is coming out now,I'm packing all your staff .We are getting ready for delivery.I can't believe it now(Shocked and confused at the same time)
Sarah:John hurry,the baby might come out this minute.(In extreme pain)
John get the carriage ,it's coming,the baby is coming ,hurry please
John:I'm done love let's go
[The scene shifts to the hospital, where Sarah is in labor, and John is by her side, holding her hand.]
John: (encouragingly) You're doing great, Sarah! We're almost there!Push a little harder,oh yes you are doing just great my love,keep pushing,the baby is coming,a little more.
Sarah: (breathlessly and in pain) I can't wait to meet our baby...
[Finally, the doctor holds up a tiny baby girl, and Sarah and John gaze lovingly at their little one with tears of joy in their heart,they can't help it but keep it kissing her.She is so adorable and beautiful.John's heart is full of joy, forgetting even that he wanted a boy.]
John: (awed) Oh... she's so beautiful!She looks more beautiful like her mother.She is the most happiest thing that has happened in our lives
Sarah: (tearfully) Our little girl,how can she be this cute
John: (smiling) I guess I was wrong about the whole boy thing, huh? (laughs)
I love her Sarah.
Sarah: (smiling) Just a little! (smiling at their baby) But we wouldn't have it any other way, would we?
John: (shaking his head) No way. We're so lucky to have her. (smiling) And who knows, maybe she'll be the next queen of willowned
They both laugh with tears in their eyes, holding their baby close
The small family move to small house after a few days. As the farmers they are,they have little but enough to feed for their family.Sarah and John are sitting on a worn couch, holding their newborn baby girl, Rosalinda whom his father called Rose
Sarah: (whispering) We're so lucky to have her, John. She's our little blessing.You have no idea how excited I am my love.I will love her till my last breathe
John: (smiling) We are, my love. And we'll do everything to give her a good life, no matter what challenges we face.I have a heart desire.I will teach her everything she needs to know about this world she will need to go to school and be educated
Sarah: (nodding) We will. We'll work hard and provide for her, just like we do for the royal family.
John: (bitterly) Yes, the royal family. Who treat us like dirt beneath their feet hmm
Sarah: (softly) I know, dear. But we can't change our circumstances right now. What we can do is take care of our family and love each other no matter what.
John: (sighing) You're right, as always. (looks at Emily) And we have Emily now. She's our light in the darkness.
[As they continue talking, their young son, James, enters the room, looking tired and worn out.]
James: (excitedly) Mama! Papa! I'm so glad to see you! I've been working in the kitchens all day...
Sarah: (concerned) Oh, James, you look exhausted. Come here and rest. (opens her arms to hug him)
James: (hugging her) I'm just glad to be with you, Mama. The royal family doesn't treat us well, but we have each other.
John: (proudly) That's right, son. We may be servants, but we're a family, and that's what matters most.
