AS I APPROACHED Sam and Long, more shots rang from the mansion. “What’s that noise?” Sam asked. “Which one? The helicopter or the gunfire?” I said, while searching the area where they sat. “Get us out of here,” Long said. “That’s what I’m trying to do.” Before I could complete that sentence, rattling and voices flowed from the hangar’s door. I turned to face the door and saw a strip of light enter as the door slid open. “What’s happening?” Sam asked. Long said nothing, but his squinted eyes and gaped mouth asked me the same question. “They’re coming in—we’ll have to wait,” I said before sitting on the floor next to Long and placing my hands behind my back.
