Is it possible for a living being to have no pulse?
Yes, it is. At some point, pulses were not totally equal to the heart's beating. They are related but not totally similar as pulses can be paused if one has knowledge of blocking arteries to cease blood flow. Although the reason for pulses was the existence of the heart, it wasn't reliable to just focus on it.
As such, there are instances when someone manages to escape a lawsuit by pretending to be dead. It is especially true for those people who want to escape the authorities. There are known criminals that have been condemned due to their misconduct that only extended their life of service.
