Ember’s POV
Luke’s face popped into view and I leaned back in my seat, my raised expectations lowering.
When Mira mentioned Fred, I had acted unbothered but deep down in my heart, I hoped it wasn’t him and the relief I felt upon seeing Luke couldn’t be explained.
Fred, as blatantly egotistical and crazy as he was, only ever troubled me outside the dorm. He rarely made his way over to my dorm, all thanks to the strict policy guiding the dorm rooms, that limited male access to our rooms.
That in itself, was something to be thankful for and I was grateful for it.
