Ember’s POV
Mira and I sneaking back into our dorm was always so dramatic and sometimes cinematic in ways that it shouldn’t be.
We moved like two criminals breaking into a bank while trying not to trigger alarms. Our route this time wasn’t crawling across the hallways. Lance and Vince, my bodyguards, were too alert and the same trick couldn’t be used twice.
It would be too suspicious and I doubted they would fall for the same trick twice so each time we snuck out like this, Mira and I tried to come up with an entry plan different from the previous one we applied.
This time, it was crawling up the downspouts next to the windows of our dorm rooms. There were roof access ladders next to it, to facilitate easy access and this proved to be very useful in our sneakouts adventures.
