Seriously, I can’t stress this enough—if you have your story saved only to your hard drive and nowhere else, and you’ve never printed out a hard copy, then you’re playing with fire. Computers fail all the time. Hard drives crash, motherboards fry, power supplies short-circuit. The last thing you want is to lose all your hard work simply because you didn’t take the time to backup your story. Trust me, I’ve been there before. A hard drive crash is hard enough to weather, but finding out you’ve lost hours of hard work on your current story in progress is debilitating.
