ANDAL Fear strikes my heart at the sight of the water elemental and I know that for the people gathered that could have never imagined the sight, the terror must be paralysing. They watch it with mouths wide open as the long-limbed creature lands in the back of the hall. It races forward on a jet of water and stops in front of the queen, lowering to its knees. The queen smiles, fondness and delight like what would be on one’s face at the sight of their child. “Oh Saints.” One of the people whispers, horrified. Several of them stagger back from the impossible sight. Even the soldiers have forgotten their swords in their shock and they take several steps back, eyeing the entrance. “Saints protect us!” Says another horrified whispers. “What is that thing?” One of the elders asks.
