Todd nodded. “Understood. Just tell us what you want us to do. And stop pointing guns at us.” He wasn’t sure what to expect, but the man’s words hadn’t prepared Todd for the sight that met him when they pushed through the depot doors. There were about thirty people, Todd estimated. They had been moved to the innermost part of the depot, near the ticket counter and baggage check. Benches were situated closer to the large doors that led to the outside platform, many with large, dried bloodstains covering the seats and the floor beneath them. The remaining soldiers were prying the rest of the benches from the flooring and moving them into position to be used as barricades. “We’re trying to get everything ready for a fast departure, as well as keep the wounded comfortable and stable.” Todd
