They started murmuring, expressing their displeasure and frustration. "Why will a girl be able to destroy us all?" Lucian asked angrily. Then the seer told them it had been written, and that they couldn't change it. Calmly, one of the vampires asked,"Is there really nothing we can do about it? We can't just die like that," he said. The woman looked at them and then said, "By now, someone as strong as the werewolf girl should have been born, or would be born." They looked at her, confused. Then she said, “I don't know about the birth, but I know a vampire child would also be born after hearing this," and they all breathed a sigh of relief. The meeting ended, and they all left the room. LUNA'S PLIGHT After losing her parents, life hasn't been very easy for Luna. The second-in-command of the pack,Raven, decided to hold a meeting. She called everyone, includingLuna.Luna, she said, wouldn't be in their pack as a member.Everyone looked at Raven, shock written all over their faces. Jace asked why? And she answered him by saying Luna's mother was a betrayer.Everyonemarveled and asked why.Shethenimmediately told the pack that Lucy was working for the vampires, and that's why they were able to attack them. She even mentioned that Lucy was seen talking with a vampire the night the attack happened. Jace tried to defend Lucy, saying she didn't know anything about the attack, but there was no escape, as Raven kept asking questions and attacking him as well. The other werewolves also decided to ask why she would be discussing with a vampire, because she wasn't supposed to. After a long argument and discussion, Raven told them she had decided to make Luna pay for her family's crime. Jace opposed immediately, saying she's just a child and didn't know anything about it.Some other werewolves agreed with him, saying they should still respect Lucy and that she was a good leader, but Raven insisted that Luna be punished and expelled from the pack.Somewerewolves were against the decision, so after a lot of debate, Luna was made to work for Raven, who was chosen as the leader of the pack. After the meeting, some werewolves questioned Raven and told her that Luna should be the leader, but Raven lashed out and said she's a betrayer's daughter and that she can never be the leader or be trusted. She even told them that Luna is too young to lead them. She dashed off angrily after saying this. They stood there, speechless and stunned. "I thought Raven was Lucy's best friend," one of them asked. "It's obvious now that she has always wanted the throne for herself," another one said. They dispersed after this. Things started getting difficult for Luna at such a young age, and she constantly cried, seeking her mother's help. She always watched the other kids during their training and balancing, but she was forbidden to join them because she's a betrayer's daughter. She was practically their slave, and Kaela, the daughter of Raven, was always especially mean to her. BACK TO THE FOREST Dante tried so hard to raise his son, Luca, into a human, and he grew into a very good-looking young boy: pure, energetic, and honest. One night, Lucian gathered some vampires and took them into the forest with the aim of getting Dante and his court on their side. After they walked for a while in the forest, they got close to their little community, and Dante sensed that something was already wrong . He called Silas, his closest person in the court, and told him to take Luca away from the house.Silas said no, but Dante didn’t want to listen. He pushed him out of the door and threw Luca to him. Silas caught Luca and hurried into their secret hideout. Lucian barged into their house, seizing them immediately when he set his eyes on them; the other vampires helped with fighting them as well. He threatened them into joining hands with him, or he would kill them, but they looked at him with disgust, tried so hard to fight, but they were too weak. In less than an hour, they were all killed by Lucian and his court. Lucian didn’t know that anyone had escaped, so they left the community. Silas and Luca slept in their secret cave, and when morning came, he got up and went back to their community, but to his surprise, he saw their little family all on the floor, dead. He hurried out of the place, ran back to the cave, and carried Luca into his arms. He walked so far, thinking about how to take care of Luca, and after walking for so long, he found himself in the city.Raising his head, he saw an orphanage home and he told Luca to stay there and not move, promising him that he would come back for him. Luca nodded and trusted him. Silas left with tears in his eyes; he was devastated. It started raining in the afternoon, and Luca just stayed under the rain. After about three hours, it stopped raining, and one of the security guards at the orphanage came out to clear the frontage. He saw Luca shivering and looking very pale. He asked him what he was doing and who he was waiting for. Luca raised his head to answer him, but he suddenly fainted. LUCIAN’S POV – THE FOREST ENCOUNTER Lucian was seen walking around in the forest, looking for humans to prey on, but luck hadn’t been on his side as he didn’t see anyone to feed on. He suddenly heard footsteps and then the sound of a bird chirping loudly. He moved closer towards the noise and he suddenly saw a young girl holding a bird down. She looked at the bird with no emotions in her eyes and suddenly twisted its neck; blood streamed down her hands as she ate the bird uncooked. Lucian looked at her, surprised, and decided to go his way when he suddenly remembered the seer’s words. He stared into space and thought to himself if it’s the way of the universe sending the chosen one to him. He went back to the girl, moved towards her, offered to make her life good, and asked if she would follow him. She nodded, and Lucian took her hands, and they walked away. They got to the cave, and Lucian suddenly let go of her hands, telling her to trust him. Then he moved closer to her, bent over as if he wanted to tell her something when he suddenly bit into her; he marked her and turned her into a vampire. She fell down and collapsed immediately. Lucian stayed with her, and after a while, she woke up, looked at Lucian, and asked what happened. He explained everything all over to her again and ended it with “Ionly made you stronger” and “you're going to be my legacy.”She looked at him and smiled.“I Like the sound of that,” she replied. He started taking care of her and training her. Surprisingly, she was getting even stronger than some born vampires. Lucian named her Zara; he wanted her to be the one to fight the chosen werewolf, so he was putting in a lot of effort just to make her stronger. Zara fed on humans so much and didn’t have any mercy on them, which made Lucian proud. After a lot of training for some days,he introduced Zara to the court as his daughter and his heir. She would be the one to fight the werewolf, hesaid.Luca was taken care of after he fainted, and after two days, he finally woke up. Hestared at the ceiling and got up, sittingup, wondering where he was when a man came in asking him if he was okay now. “You’ve been sleeping for two days,” he said. Luca told him he was fine, then the man proceeded to ask him why he was outside the orphanage and even in the rain. After a silence that seemed like forever, Luca explained what happened and how he got there to him. The man understood what happened and looked at Luca, his eyes filled with pity.
