Her skin turned cold, sweat starting to gather on her forehead as she again mumbled, “This is not real.”
Her knees gave up as she collapsed onto the sofa behind her.
She wanted to scream, saying this is not true, but deep inside she knew the truth was right in front of her, smashed on her face.
How did he get that picture? How long had he been watching her?
Her eyes were stuck on the screen for a long time, not breaking away, as seconds turned into minutes. Her thoughts ran wild with every breath she took.
Her eyes slowly moved toward the door of his attached office. There was a room attached Aurora had once told her it was his childhood bedroom. Now, it was his office in this mansion.
Driven by something between fear and unbearable curiosity, Aria got up.
