Lorelei answered each of Xander's questions calmly, without showing much emotion.
“So… you can tell which plants help people,” Xander said, watching her closely. “Just by smell?”
She looked at him for a moment, then gave a small nod.
“Yes,” she said. “Because I'm a healer.”
Xander blinked. “You're a… healer?”
His voice was full of surprise. He had heard of them, of course—wolves with special knowledge about herbs, injuries, and survival. But he had never met one in person.
“You really don't look like one,” he added, still trying to process it.
Lorelei gave a short smile, “That's the point.”
Her purple eyes flickering momentarily.
