As we walked back towards the town I said "Asher, I appreciate your words and your willingness to uncover the truth together. It's just hard for me to let go of my doubts. Can you give me any more information that might help me trust you?"
Asher replied, "Of course, Freya. I understand that trust takes time to build. Let me share with you some stories of my family's history and the conflicts we've faced. Maybe by understanding our struggles, you'll see that we've always fought for justice and peace."
I said, "That sounds like a good idea, Asher. Hearing your family's side of the story might help me see things from a different perspective. I want to believe in you, but I need some reassurance."
Asher then responded, "I completely understand, Freya. I'll share the stories with you, and I hope they shed some light on the truth. Remember, we're in this together, and I'll do whatever it takes to earn your trust."
There I was again lost in his words, lost in the pull he had over me, my father had always told me men were liars and I just had to be sure of Asher.
He went on with the story saying: "Once upon a time, in the mystical world of the werewolves, there were two powerful kingdoms: Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls. These kingdoms had coexisted peacefully for generations until a disagreement over territory ignited a fierce rivalry.
As the story goes, my grandmother, a wise and beautiful werewolf, shared with me the tale of the fateful battle. She described how the moon's glow illuminated the night sky, casting an eerie light over the dense forests of Lakeshire, because it was once an inhabited forest before it became the little beautiful town where people from both kingdoms came to.
The tension between the two kingdoms had been building for years, with each pack fiercely protective of their land. The Alpha of Crescent Valley, a formidable leader named Magnus, believed that his pack deserved more territory to thrive and prosper. On the other side, Selene Rafe, an ancestor of Asher, the strong and fearless leader of Lunar Falls, was determined to defend her pack's ancestral home.
The clash began when scouts from Crescent Valley ventured into the outskirts of Lunar Falls, unknowingly trespassing on their sacred grounds. This intrusion was seen as a direct challenge to Lunar Falls' authority, and tension escalated in the blink of an eye. Selene had the scouts beheaded and their heads were sent to Magnus in Crescent Valley, it could only mean one thing, war! Magnus was filled with rage because the scout was his nephew.
Both packs gathered their strongest warriors, their fangs gleaming in the moonlight, ready to fight for their pack's honor and survival. The night of the battle was filled with howls echoing through the woods, as the werewolves transformed into their powerful wolf forms, grinding their teeth in anticipation.
The clash between Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls was fierce and intense. The sound of growls snarls, and the clash of teeth and claws filled the air. Each pack fought with unwavering determination, their loyalty to their pack and their loved ones fueling their strength.
For days, the battle raged on, with neither side willing to back down. The forest bore the scars of their conflict, trees torn apart, and the ground stained with blood.
Tragedy struck both kingdoms. Alpha Selene of Lunar Falls and Alpha Magnus of Crescent Valley fell in combat, leaving their respective packs devastated and grieving.
With the loss of their leaders, the children of Selene and Magnus, Luna and Ethan, found themselves thrust into positions of authority. They were burdened with the responsibility of ending the war that had claimed the lives of so many.
Luna, inheriting her mother's strength and wisdom, and Ethan, embodying his father's determination and resilience, recognized the futility of continuing the conflict. They saw the pain and suffering inflicted upon their people and realized that it was time to put an end to the bloodshed.
United by their shared grief and a desire for peace, Luna and Ethan met at the forest battlefield, now Lakeshire between Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls. They spoke of the losses suffered by both sides, the families torn apart, and the need to find a resolution.
Together, they made the difficult decision to stop the war. They brokered a peace agreement, dividing the disputed territory between the two kingdoms, and ensuring a fair distribution of resources and land. The people of both Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
However, the scars of the war ran deep, and the animosity between the two kingdoms remained. While Luna and Ethan had managed to bring an end to the fighting, a lingering malice persisted. The people of Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls, still nursing their wounds, found it hard to trust one another fully.
In the years that followed, the kingdoms kept their distance, maintaining an uneasy peace. The children of Luna and Ethan, now leaders, continued to uphold the truce but struggled to bridge the gap between their people.
Though the war had ended, it would take time for the wounds to heal completely. The tale of Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls would be remembered for generations, a reminder of the consequences of unchecked conflict and the importance of finding common ground.
And that's the story of how the war between Crescent Valley and Lunar Falls came to an end, but left a lasting legacy of strained relations between the two kingdoms, till this day" He concluded.
"And the Mark on you?" I asked
"Well, my dad had that tattooed on me since I was 10, wanted me and him to have something in common I guess," Asher said with his hands up in the air.
"And only you and your Dad have that tattoo?" I asked frantically.
"Yes, and I don't know why you let this silly tattoo always get in your head, what's wrong?" Asher asked trying to grab a hold of me.
"Ooh my.." I said as I ran away into the woods.
"Freya!" I heard him shouting as I took to my heels
After running about a mile and catching my breath I stuttered, "Ash..Asher or his Dad killed Mum".
