CHAPTER EIGHT
Brianna paced in front of Hannah as she complained about Orion’s hard-headedness and making such decision without so much as a word about it to her
“Why wouldn’t he ask me first? Why would he just announce it like that? Oh my Goddess, what am I going to do? Oh my”, she ranted while going back and forth, making the poor girl dizzy from watching her moves.
“Calm down, Brianna, my brother is stubborn, yes, but this is the first time I’ve seen him take interest in someone”, Hannah tried to plead with her to not be angry. “Please, for my sake, accept”
They just met, yes, but even Brianna, the werewolf could feel the connection between Hannah and herself, it was like they were long lost sisters. So, she couldn’t exactly say no to her, plus it was the only thing she could do to pay the guy back for saving her and everything and she would be more feared if everyone knew she was the one-eyed Alpha’s Luna.
To reward Orion for his hot-headedness, Hannah took a picture she has of him out and showed it to Brianna, he had had every other picture destroyed, but she kept that one. They were looking at it, and Brianna was stunned by the beauty the Alpha possessed, they did not hear him come in, in the blink of an eye, the picture was ripped from Brianna’s hand and torn into pieces. Tearing the picture made Hannah sad that she wheeled herself from the room while looking at Orion murderously. In turn, Brianna supported the little girl and left the room for Orion as well.
In an attempt to cool off, she ran into Ella at the diner where they usually meet at, she wasn’t her usual perky self.
“Hey Brianna”, she said dully
“Hi, Ella, how have you been?” Brianna asked to keep the conversation going. They talked about how they parted without goodbyes during their last meet up at the club and what happened to Brianna with the vampires.
“Ella, I noticed something though”, Brianna’s voice turned serious grabbing Ella’s attention
“What is it?” she asked
“That dead vampire looked a lot like you, it was uncanny”, the moment Brianna said those words, Ella left her seat like something was chasing after her, and ran from the diner.
“Ella! Wait, what’s wrong”, Brianna called after her, but she did not wait up nor look back she just kept running, and like that Brianna did not set eyes on her best friend ever again.
She returned to the pack house disheartened with the sole purpose of agreeing to Orion and being his Luna. Because, it seemed like the only way to keep herself safe from the claws of bad people, or in her case bad wolves.
The mating ceremony was huge and carefully planned because it was for the Alpha and his Luna. Brianna looked every bit the beautiful Luna, ready to bow to every of her Alpha’s bidding. She thinks the Alpha was charming, with the way he always cared for her right since their very first meeting. Only her thinks that way though, every other person thinks Orion was just a scary big bad Alpha who rarely shows mercy but, honorable enough to keep the rules of the werewolf world.
“We don’t have to do anything you don’t want”, Orion told her as they got to the Alpha’s suite in the pack house. It was the night of the mating ceremony.
Charming. That was the only word Brianna could describe her Alpha with.
“It’s okay Alpha, I’m ready”, she assured him.
“You do know you don’t have to call me Alpha when we are in the privacy of our room”, Orion told her. He was still being charming, and it does nothing but flutter Brianna’ little werewolf heart, making her find Orion even more attractive.
So, like that their love story started, Brianna was glowing because she finally found her own place, and people she could call family. Orion started laughing more, even with the members of the pack. The first time he laughed, he left everyone shocked, no one has ever heard him laugh since the face burning incident, so it was kind of a surprise and everyone had to thank their Luna for bring out that side of their Alpha. If he could laugh with them, they thought that it wouldn’t be long before he started going soft on them. So they thought.
On a faithful afternoon, The Alpha, Orion returned from a peace treaty from a neighboring pack with his warriors. He would normally go with his beta- Peter alone, but, he wanted someone to stay behind and watch over things while he was gone. What a mistake that turned out to be.
“Have you seen the Luna?” He asked the nearest pack member he could see
“I saw her going towards the beta’s suite earlier, Alpha”, the woman answered while bowing her head respectively. Orion nodded his thanks and head towards the beta’s side of the building.
As he neared, he could hear muffled sound and smell weird scents, due to his heightened werewolf ability to hear, see and smell thing better than average human. He was able to quickly deduce what the sound and the smell was. People were mating behind inside the room, and he saw Elizabeth, Peter’s wife in the yard, so there was no way she would be the one inside the room.
Unless Peter was cheating on her wife, or someone decided to use the Beta’s room for mating, there was no way he would be hearing such sounds. To make sure, it wasn’t either of his two assumptions, he opened the door, and to say he was shocked would be putting what he saw lightly. He was appalled. Peter wasn’t just cheating on his wife, he was cheating on her with the Luna, Orion’s Luna, Brianna.
As if the two traitors in question were pulled out of a trance, they gasped and separated in the speed of light, but Orion was quicker as he pulled Peter up by his throat, his elongated werewolf nails piercing his neck, he asked in the most dreadful voice he could muster in that heartbreaking moment. “Why”
“Why would you do something like this?” Orion shouted
“I don’t know Alpha, please spare me, I’m sorry”, Peter pleaded while crying
Orion shook his head as he mind-linked the guards to go to the beta’s room and throw Peter out of the pack house, banished, to be killed if he was ever seen again.
“You are banished from my pack, and if any of my warriors ever set eyes on you, you’ll be dead”, with that said, Orion took Brianna by the arm and dragged her out of that suite like a criminal she was.
He took her straight down to the dungeon where they keep rouges waiting to be killed; he couldn’t stand that sight of her at that moment. Words spread fast across the pack house of hoe the Alpha’s Luna was caught cheating.
“I don’t understand why beta peter would do that”, one pack member said
“I know right, he just married Elizabeth”, another said
“It is the Luna you should blame, it looked like she seduced the beta, we have known Peter all our lives, and he wouldn’t do something like that unless seduced”, the pack member that doesn’t really like Brianna said
“You are right, she is to blame, because if she wasn’t too friendly with him, maybe it wouldn’t have happened”, everyone had a thing or two to say about the incident, but no one knew what really happened.
Brianna couldn’t even think about how it happened, because her mind was blank, she doesn’t remember a thing, just like it happened with the vampire with the werewolf bite on her neck outside the club she went to with her friend Ella. Curled up on the ground in the dungeon, she started crying.
