CHAPTER TWO: Next Step.

*Lanister’s House*

“Sir Gilbert the car is ready , we've finished packing the things” Charles said,waiting for a reply but didn't get any “ sir Gilbert is anything wrong?” He asked with concern in his voice “ There's nothing wrong old friend,I just remembered when my little princess told me to paint this whole building white, so when she gets lost one day she'll still remember what home looks like and with that she'll be able to find this building, isn't that funny old friend” he asked “it is sir, but sir I don't consider what you just said just funny, I also consider it wise sir” he said in between giggles, “oh she's very wise old friend , my little princess is the wisest person I've ever known “ he said “ sir I think we should start moving now before it's too late” Charles said while looking at his watch “let's start going then,help me carry the dress I kept on my bed upstairs, it's for my princess” he said and headed to the car “ okay sir” Charles replied and went upstairs to bring the dress.

*Lily’s House*

“I'm back aunty Lydia” I shouted as I came dowenstairs “well, well what a beautiful dress you picked Lily” she said “i know right, it's pretty and I like the color that's why I picked this on…” I was cut off by the sound of cars entering my compound “is that what I'm thinking it is” I asked aunty Lydia with suprise in my eyes but before I could get an answer from her I heard a very familiar voice “ Yes princess, it's what your thinking” that voice answered, that voice means everything to meand that's my dad's voice, I turned around immediately and ran to give him a warm hug “Dad, I've missed you so much” I said “ if you really miss me princess you would have come home,I painted the house white for you" he said and I just could not stop myself from laughing” Dad you seriously did that, I said that years ago because obviously I was still a baby you know” I said with a big smile “ I know princess and yes I brought something for you” he said and winked “what's that dad” I asked but he didn't answer instead he said “Later princess, let's eat I'm starving” at that point I knew something was off, dad didn't want to talk about it but sooner or later I'll know “lily my dear won't you eat with your dad” aunty Lydia interrupted my thinking “ oh sure, who doesn't want to eat with the best man in the world” I said while serving tea to dad.

*Double D Hotel*

“Good morning sir” one of the employee greeted Donald “Hmm how are you doing” he replied with a calm, charming voice “fi-fine sir” the girl stuttered, her heart beating like a drum, her cheeks red like a tomato “Alright, drop the papers on the table and go do your work” he said feeling irritated. “Donald, Donald I heard you were insulted” Julie said with mockery in her voice “Julie will you leave my office now?” Donald shouted “ no bro I'm not leaving till you tell me who the courageous girl I need to thank her” Julie said with a smirk plastered at the side of her mouth, at this point Donald felt like punching that smirk off her face “How did you get to know about this Julie” he asked even though he knows the answer “oh, Dimitri told me” Julie replied and started laughing as she imagine’s the scenero “Get out of my office Julie and call Dimitri on your way out, i need to see him” he said to Julie and started reading the papers on the table “ okay bro “ Julie said and went in search of Dimitri “ here you are,my brother said I should call you, he said he needs to see you” she said “Julie, why is your brother calling me?” Dimitri asked “I told him a girl insulted him” Julie said and walked away “oh my GOD I'm done for” Dimitri said and immediately rushed upstairs to see Donald.(In Donald's office) “Dimitri”Donald called out with a chill tone, that made Dimitri gulp hard in terror “Yes sir”Dimitri answered with a low voice “Why won't can't you shut your mouth for once, must you say everything, must you talk ?” Donald asked him “ I'm sorry sir” Dimitri apologized “it's fine, I'm sure you saw the girl and I know you're not that daft to forget her face so quickly” Donald asked, silently dieing to hear a positive answer “Yes sir” Dimitri answered looking confused but didn't ask any question “Good, go do a research, I need need all her information before lunch” Donald said, feeling relieved “okay sir, thank you sir”Dimitri replied and rarwzn out of the office like a child who was going to be whipped “She has the nerve”Donald said to himself and went back to reading the paper in his hand.

*Lily's House*

*Lily's POV*

“Dad you've not said anything since, what is wrong” I asked dad “it's nothing my dear, I have something to tell you” he said “alright, go on I'm all ears” I replied with a smile “You know my dear, when your mum was on her death bed, she begged me to make sure you go to the University, but I've been trying to persuade you to do that but you're too stubborn, it's either you say you're not ready to leave Henry or you're not ready to take the next step. Please my dear, I'm begging you to leave Henry and further your education” Dad said, looking at me like his life depends on it “ Dad you know why I didn't agree with you before? It was because you always come at the wrong time” I said answering my own question “oh, is that so?” he asked surprisingly “ Yes sir” I replied playfully “so will you agree with me this time? Did I come at the right time?” He asked again with the same tone “Yes sir” I replied playfully again “does that mean you've broken up with Henry” he asked, this time looking serious “no, no , no we're not talking about that dad” I replied absent minded because I was focused on the dress on my bed “Dad” I called out “ Yes princess” he answered “I this dress for me?” I asked still looking at the dress “it was your mother's but now yours don't you like the dress” he asked with a frown “no, I love it, it's pretty, who told you to pick this color dad , it's my best color” I asked “I've always known you like blue” he answered and we both giggled for some time before someone interrupted us “sir Gilbert, it's time to go sir” Charles said, interrupting our father and daughter moment “Alright, I'll be there in a minute” Dad replied then looked at me and said “Lily, I've arranged everything you need for the University okay?” He said and I nodded my head “Good and you'll be meeting some old friends when you get there, I have a house there, I'll give you the keys when we get to the house” He said,his eyes looking teary “okay dad” I replied “That's my princess, you'll go out there and make me proud okay?” He said again “okay dad” I said, while wiping the tears flowing from dad's eyes “alright dear, I'll be on my way now” he said and started going down the stairs “dad, you said something about old friends, I don't remember having one” I said with confusion clear in my voice “oh, about that you'll know when you get there, I can't tell you now I have to go” he replied “but dad I nee…” I was interrupted by dad's words “I need to go princess, bye”he said and Charles drove off “Hmm, what a hard man,he couldn't even answer me” I said In frustration.
