Jethro saw himself back in Timoty Lake with Topaz. They were kissing again, her hands holding the back of his neck for support while her legs were tight on his waist.
But unlike earlier today, the pain that made them stop kissing was gone. It was pure bliss for the two of them. He was feeling courageous with Topaz's tongue trying to enter his mouth.
His hands moved from his back down to her legs. He sensually caressed her thighs. She gave out a moan when he moved closer to her inner thighs.
He suddenly stopped. Topaz moaned, did she feel that?
"Why? What's wrong?" She asked him. Her cheeks were flustered, her lips were still a bit puckered from their kiss.
"You felt that?" He asked, confused.
"This?" To his surprise, Topaz touched his manhood. He did not realize that it was already stiff and hard.
That's when he heard the alarm on his phone going off.
"Ahhh.." He was frustrated. It was just a dream.
Jethro went home late that night after having dinner with the Laytons. After dinner, he spends a good couple of hours watching a movie with Topaz after dinner.
He was home past midnight. He did not bother knocking on Clyde's door to tell him that he was already home. He just texted him t which he replied with a thumbs up.
After having a quick shower and changing his clothes, he immediately went to bed.
He looked at his phone. Topaz has a good morning message. It felt like it was before. They were texting and talking again.
Jethro sent Topaz their usual good morning texts and said that he had just woken up. Slipping his phone in between his waist and the garter of his shorts, he went downstairs to grab some breakfast. Clyde was already there eating some pancakes.
"I left a couple for you, sleepyhead," he said, pointing at the plate in the center of the table.
Pancakes. Clyde made pancakes. He obviously wanted to talk to him about something.
He grabbed a piece of pancake and sat on the table. Jethro already knew that Clyde would wait for him to eat first before he started with whatever concern he had.
This was how sit-downs happened with Clyde. Since Jethro's parents were mostly not around, it was somehow Clyde's responsibility to reprimand and discipline Jethro.
Although Clyde never does it often, he makes sure that when he does, it will feel like an adult conversation for the two of them. Clyde was never that hard on him. It was more of a talk rather than discipline with him. He has always treated him like an adult. Clyde never abused his age or responsibility in the house just to get him straight. It's one of the things that Jethro loved about him.
He was done with his first pancake when Clyde started with his intervention.
"Are you sure about what you are doing? Mrs. Layton seems like a good person. It seems unfair to lie to her, especially if it is about her child." He said, his serious face was on.
"Actually, I am a bit guilty. But I do understand where Topaz comes from. She doesn't want to give her mother false hopes. I could see how broken she was when she thought that her legs felt something, only to be told that it was just her imagination." He sighs." 'For a moment, I was somehow excited for her. I really thought that she felt something." He continued.
"But you understand that if you want to continue going to their place, you will have to eventually stop lying. Believe me, it will do you good now, even Topaz. One lie after the other is never good. That's why I wanted to talk with you." Clyde explained, casually tearing a piece of pancake from the one he is holding. He dipped it in chocolate before chewing. "I won't tolerate another hospital visit unless Mrs. Layton is aware of it." He said, this time firmly.
"I hope you do not get me wrong. I like Topaz and I like Mrs. Layton. That's why I am asking you not to hide things from her. She needs to know what is happening to her daughter." He continued. "If I was in her shoes, I would want to know everything about my child, even the false hopes that she had to endure because of her condition. Their family. They shouldn't be keeping secrets from each other. Just like the two of us." He took a sip from his glass of milk.
"I do appreciate that you two let me keep this secret, but the next one, especially something involving Topaz's health, shouldn't be kept from Mrs. Layton. Do you understand me? Do we have a deal? " Clyde was asking, but of course, Jethro knew that it was not a request on his end. He wanted him to obey.
"Yeah, and I am sorry that I had to drag you into our secret."
"No, don't be. We are family. You should never keep things from me." He said.
"Now, that concludes my intervention. Go and finish your breakfast and I'll go back to being "cool Clyde"' once again. "He said, smiling before he left the table and trampled on his hair.
"Thanks, Clyde, you don't know how important your approval is," he said.
"I like Topaz, she seems like a nice girl and I think that she is good for you. I just don't really like the lying part. You'll be able to get the most out of your relationship if you avoid lying to people that are important in the relationship." Clyde said, his back on the wall close to where the entrance to the kitchen is. "Believe me, honesty is as important as trust in a relationship." He said before turning around.
Now, Jethro was left in the kitchen alone. He knew that he didn't have to share this conversation with Topaz. But in the future, he should encourage her to tell the truth and not hide anything from Mrs. Layton, especially with things concerning her health and their relationship.
Their relationship. It felt weird to think that they were in a relationship.
But what do you call this thing that they have?
They kissed and they shared secrets. Doesn't it qualify as having a sort of relationship?
