Out of the dark
I blinked repeatedly to be sure I was seeing correctly. But what I saw was real. At the far end of the courtyard, I saw Riley and a guy together. Even though the guy had his back towards me, I could tell it was Jaxon.
They were holding hands - not like friends would. From the look of it, they were holding hands intimately. And as if that wasn't enough, their heads were close to each other, as if they were whispering something in each other's ears.
After a short while, Riley burst out in laughter while Jaxon had a smile on his face.
My breath slowed; My world seemed to slow. The sight of them talking and laughing broke my heart. Not quite long I was complaining to his cousin, Janice about his avoidance and how last night's event broke my heart.
