Straight In Between

The visit

“Don’t,” he hissed, walking past him to adjust Su Yue’s shirt.

Mr. Shen followed and hugged him from behind, wrapping his arms around his waist.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.

Liang Wei pushed him away and dragged Su Yue downstairs. Mr. Shen sighed, throwing himself onto the bed. After breakfast, Liang Wei took the keys to one of Mr. Shen’s cars and drove Su Yue to meet Wang Xingyi before heading to school.

Xu Xuan was waiting for him, Xu Xuan felt uneasy and wanted to see him in person. Seeing Liang Wei step out of the car looking well lifted the weight from his shoulders. He pulled him into a hug.

“Mr. Shen is really scary, Liang Wei,” he said as they headed to class.

When Mr. Shen arrived at the office, Gao Ming had just dropped off Xu Yang. He walked past them without a look. The fact that he hadn’t received his morning kiss while they were curled up in each other’s arms chewing on their lips was deeply annoying.Xu Yang broke off the kiss as soon as he noticed him.Gao Ming rolled eyes ,pulled him back and planted his lips on his .Mr Shen was already in his office having coffee when they walked in,secretary Xu Yang dropped a file on his desk.

“Did you two fight again?"Gao Ming asked, dropping into a chair. Mr Shen nodded focused on a file

“Send this to the ads department,it’s signed ”,he said, handing a file to Xu Yang.

“Who was wrong this time? “ Gao Ming asked, leaning back into his chair.He looked up from the pile of unsigned files in front of him.

“I’m not wrong but as it stands,I’m wrong.”

Gao Ming tried to hold back a laugh but couldn’t. A tamed wife is a wife whose husband behaves“Gao Ming remarked, crossing his legs on the edge of the mahogany desk drawing sharp glare from Mr. Shen. He leaned back, the leather of his chair creaking under his weight. His mind was still stuck on the cold shoulder he’d received instead of the face kisses he’d get. He glanced at Xu Yang, making him uncomfortable though his eyes remained glued to the file in his hand, He cleared his throat,

“You can leave “ Mr. Shen stared at the closed door for a long moment before his eyes drifted back to his phone. The screen was dark. No message,no calls,his heart arched.

“I didn’t even hit him that hard," he said , dropping the phone.

“Oh ..so that’s it !” Gao Ming exclaimed, raising a brow but Mr Shen ignored him.I really don’t know why you guys hit someone,he murmured to himself leaning back into his chair. He’d gotten his own fair share a couple of times. People claim when you hit your partner for being disobedient it’s because you love them but he really doesn’t see where the love in that stands.How on earth does beating your partner, show how much you love them?,it upsets him,but he still gets beaten up for even the slightest wrong. He’s a billionaire with a couple of companies. People tremble under his stare and he has two deadly friends and yet he gets beaten up for acting as he wants.

In school , Liang Wei walked through the bustling hallways with Xu Xuan,his face a mask of exhaustion,in less than a week his jaws had received up to five slaps.Mr Sheng only obeys him outside,once inside,the roles change,why does he keep treating him like a child?,whenever he was wrong he’d get disciplined either by slaps or f****d hard,and he can’t lie, he really does enjoy being f****d that hard sometimes but this week he had received too much slaps and that too,in front of Su Yue.

“Did you see Su Yue’s time, ? She’s incredible. Let’s go to her training session after class,” Xu Xuan said excitedly.

Liang Wei felt a pang of guilt. How was he going to tell his best friend that he was dating the girl he is obsessed with?

“Is that okay?” he asked.

“Yeah! We’re friends now, right.. that’s enough to get us a pass to the training section ?”

At the office, Mr. Shen was still staring at his phone. “Mr. Shen,” Xu Yang interrupted, “the board meeting is pushed to four. You have an opening at two.”

He stood up. He didn't need a meeting; he needed to see Liang Wei.

“I’m going out,” he announced.

When he pulled up to the school, classes had just ended. He spotted Liang Wei and Xu Xuan immediately. He stepped out of the car, his expensive presence drawing stares. He clutched a bouquet of lilies he’d bought, his hand trembling slightly.

“Honey?” he called, his voice low and authoritative.Liang Wei stopped. Beside him, Xu Xuan smiled awkwardly. Liang Wei didn't reach for the flowers. Instead, he turned to his friend. “Let’s go.” He said and walked past Mr. Shen without a second glance.

When they arrived at the National Swimming Center, Su Yue was in the pool. Liang Wei sat in the stands, watching her carve through the water. Beside him, Xu Xuan was a nervous wreck, clutching a water bottle and staring at her. Liang Wei’s stomach tightened.

When Su Yue surfaced, her eyes locked onto his and lit up. But Liang Wei remained calm. When Xu Xuan approached her with the water, Liang Wei stayed behind, gesturing for her to take it from Xu Xuan and not to stare at him. Her smile vanished. She had never taken Su Yue’s water,that’ll get her into trouble but seeing this was for the main cause,it appeared as an opportunity. She took the water and gave Xu Xuan a shy smile before walking away.Xu Xuan wasn’t bad looking at all,in fact,he was really attractive.One would think that’s why he and Liang Wei are friends. He was just about an inch taller with less feminine features compared to Liang Wei.While Liang had deep blue eyes,he had grey ones that would draw you in if you focus on them for just a second,he was really handsome,the only feminine features on him was his long hair that stands out and his dimples that holds focus on him even when you want to look away. He had turned down all forms of affection towards him for the past five years,focusing on only two things,Su Yue and his books.To others,he was more attractive and maybe if he was bold enough to approach her, her father would have no choice but to let her be with him.
