Pan was the first one to wake up. It was already 7 a.m. on Saturday, and she begged Shady to make her some breakfast. She gave her a big smile and said of course. She winced once she stood up. Pan was quick to ask what was wrong, but Shady quickly lied and said it was nothing. She led them to the kitchen and fixed some eggs and toast. Pan scarfed her plate down quickly and noticed that Shady hadn't even touched her plate. She was staring off in space and looked like she wanted to cry. Pan reached over to grab her big sister's hand but stopped when she noticed the dry blood on her wrist. Shady snapped back to reality after hearing Pan ask what happened. She told her not to worry about it and that she would make sure nothing happened to her. Pan went to protest but stopped after seeing the look on her sister's face. Shady pushed her plate over for Pan to eat while she washed up the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen. Just as she finished the last dish, Melissa walked in with the terror twins following right behind her. She was surprised to see them, especially Shady, up and dressed already. She gave them a fake smile and told them breakfast would be ready soon. Shady told her not to worry about making them anything because she had already fed Pan and herself and made sure all the dirty dishes were washed and put away. Pan was going to say something about Shady not eating but decided against it. She could tell the change in her sister once Melissa entered the kitchen. Pan knew something happened between them after she went to bed last night, and she knew it had to be bad because Shady was the strongest person she knew and nothing bothered her. Chuck finally came in once the food was ready. He walked around the room giving everyone a good morning kiss, and of course, the girls were last. Pan was solely focused on her sister. She barely noticed Shady flinch when their dad came over and kissed the top of her head. Shady gave him a forced smile after telling him good morning.
Melissa was putting on a good show of being concerned about the girls, but Shady knew it was all fake. She was asking them all kinds of questions like "What is your favorite color? How is school going? What hobbies do you have? Has anything exciting happened lately?" Pan was overly excited about the attention because no one other than her sister cared about her. Shady didn't want to share anything about herself because she knew both of them really didn't care about her or her sister, but Pan was too innocent sometimes. She loved to brag about her big sister. Pan told everyone " My favorite thing to do is to watch my sister play football with our brother, but sadly, we don't get to see him anymore. It was hard telling them apart sometimes because they look like twins. I also love to watch her race because she is the best. She even broke all 3 of Daddy's records a couple weeks ago after she got her teeth fixed from where her and our brother broke the fence in our backyard while playing football." Pan was so proud of her sister, and she had the biggest smile on her face. Shady on the other hand was upset that she had told them this because she never told Pan about the argument she had with Chuck at the race track or the horrible things he had said to her that night. That was one of the main reasons she worked so hard to shatter his records. After their fight, everyone found out that Shady was not only a girl, but Doug was her grandfather and Chuck was her dad. It painted an even bigger target on her back. Chuck had held multiple records at Baileyton for over a decade. Countless numbers of people have tried to beat them over the years, but every single person was unable to even come close. Shady knew she had to prove herself all over again, and she did just that. She was pissed at Chuck, Sandy, and Angel after she lost her brother. So, she channeled all of her anger into racing. In one night, she not only beat all 3 of his records, but she had set a new one for driving the fastest in a car without the use of a turbo, supercharger, or NOS system. As she expected, Chuck slammed both of his hands down on the table and asked her if it was true. Shady gave him a huge smile and told him "Yes daddy. I broke all 3 of your records 2 weeks ago, and I also set a new record that night for driving the fastest in a car without the use of a turbo, supercharger, or NOS system. I even quit hiding the fact that I was a girl since everyone found out about our relationship that night Pawpaw invited you to come watch me race. It was also the weekend after my brother Nick had knocked out my lower teeth then disappeared after my mom took him home and met his mom Sandy." Shady knew she was pissing off her dad because the veins on his forehead looked like they were ready to explode, but she wasn't expecting the level of rage coming from Melissa. From what she could tell, Chuck never told her about his other son Nick. She wasn't even sure if he knew that the girls had met him considering how mad he was right now. Shady could tell she was going to get it later from the hateful looks she was receiving from Melissa. She hoped and prayed that they left Pan alone.
