The heavy doors of the Council chamber shut behind them with a groan that echoed through the marble corridor. For a long moment, the three of them stood in silence, the air thick with tension. Zaria felt the weight of what had just transpired pressing down on her chest like stone. Inside, she had faced twelve powerful wolves who looked at her like she was nothing more than a girl playing queen. And yet, she had stood tall, unbowed.
