Two weeks had passed since Josh first got injured, He was dropped off on the campus by his father that morning. Kam opens the door for him, and offered his hand, “Come on”, Josh grabs his hands and gets up while his father is holding his shoulders as well. They walked towards the entrance, “Are you sure you can go to school now?”, his father asked, Josh then tries to stand on his own feet, and gets his bag from his father’s shoulder, “Yup”, suddenly Andie approaches them, “Hey! You’re back”, she hugs him tightly, and he slowly wraps his arms around her, “

Andie, luckily you are here, can I ask a favor?”, Kam asked, 

“You don’t need to tell me about that, Mr. Hawkins I will”, she smiles at him, 

“Thank you very much”, afterward he gives Josh’s bag to him, “No, I will take care of that too”, Andie instead picks it up, Josh looks at her and asked, “Are you sure?”, 

“Yeah, why?”, she uttered, 

“Thank you very much”, 

“Let’s now got to our first class”, Andie holds his arm and make it wrap around her shoulder, and they goes in the campus.

 Before going to their class, they first went to the lockers. The moment Andie opens her locker it stinks so much she covers her nose, and wondered where that it could be coming from but then she saw the mouse inside is covered with blood, she screamed at the top of her lungs, which makes everyone around look at her, Mya and Josh come, “What happened?”, Mya asked, they both looked at inside and saw the dead mouse, Mya gasped, and covered her mouth, “How did this happen?”, she asked, Josh, rubs Andie’s back gently as she was expressionless and still staring at her locker teary-eyed. Suddenly Bethany and her friends walks by looks at them and smirked. “That girl!”, Mya approaches her, but Andie abruptly grabs her wrist, 

“Don’t”, 

“Why?”, she shouted. 

The bell then rings, “Let’s go inside now”, Josh uttered, he puts his arm around Andie’s shoulder and the three of them entered the room. Mya and Andie were sitting beside each other, so she whispers at her, “What they are doing to you is too much”, 

Andie sighs, “I know, but I think that is their plan to make me mad at them”, 

Mya’s brows furrowed,

 “If I fight with them, they will use it as a reason to call the principal”, she whispers, 

“Oh”, Mya slowly nods, “they are monsters”, she stares at Bethany, 

“Just let them” Andie smirks at her.

After the class, Andie waits for Josh at his locker, Mya already got home since her mom picked her up early. Minutes are passing, Josh was still isn’t there, so she decided to call and texted him, but even how many times she calls him, there is no answer. “I will go to the court”, she texted him again, and leaves. 

When Andie enters the basketball court, she saw Josh at the side watching his teammates play. She sits beside him, “Don’t worry, you can play later on”, she told him, 

“I know”, silence suddenly rise between them, both of them are watching, the play,

 Josh suddenly saw his friend Mike looking at him, as their eyes meet Fred shooks his head gently then looks at Andie. “Hey, uhmm, don’t wait for me, I might take some time here”, he said to her, 

“Are you sure? How about your ankle?”, she asked, 

“Fred is there he can help me”, he smiles at her, 

“Oh, ok, see you tomorrow then”, she slowly picks up her bag, and walks away. 

The coach whistles, “Time out!”, all of the players at the court go to their coach, “Have some water break first”, subsequently all of them dispersed. Fred sits beside Josh, 

“Man, you still hanging out with her?”, he wondered

 “Of course she is my friend!”, Josh’s voice got higher, 

“Man, calm down, geez”, 

Josh looks away, “I have something to give you”, Fred gets something from his bag, a small piece of paper, “Bethany said, I should give this to you”, Josh then grabs the note and opens it,

 “Do you want to go out sometime?”, was written to the letter. Josh crumples it and throws away, “Hey! Are  you serious?”, Fred asked, “You would set a popular and pretty girl aside for some nerd!”, he added, Josh clenches his fist, his mouth was tightened and he stood up slowly, “What is wrong with you?”, he shouted, “Don’t you ever talk about her like that”, Josh points his finger to him, 

“Listen to me first!”, he holds his arms pulling it down gently, so Josh sits down, and calms himself, 

“I have a challenge to you”, he whispers,

 “Try to become the MVP at the game and be with Bethany, then see how much our schoolmates will congratulate and cheer for you because when you are with Andie, even you have a great play last year, only a few people recognized you”, 

“You are crazy!”, Josh yelled, and picks up his bag and gets up and walks away, 

“Just try, prove me wrong then!”, Fred yelled at him, 

Josh stopped, looks at him, expressionless for a second, and leaves. When he walks outside gently, still dragging his one feet with him, slowly. His mother saw him from her car so she gets down, and assists him immediately, “Oh dear”, she held his shoulder and wears his bag, she assists him into their car. On their way home, Daniella noticed Josh was silent and staring at the window, “Is everything ok?”, she asked, Josh turns his face to her, “Nothing”, he uttered, 

“I can tell if there is something wrong”, she added, 

“I am just tired, let’s go home now”.

At Cook’s house, Andie has just finished washing the clothes, she already folds them one by one. Amy then approaches her, “Hey! This is the grocery list”, she handed Andie a piece of paper, 

“Are you sure I will only buy these, Isn’t it enough?”,

 “Don’t ask for any questions”, Amy gives her the money,

 “I know how much those things cost, don’t you ever try steal from me!” she shouts at her, 

“Yes ma’am”, Andie picks up all the clothes and stacks them neatly at the clean hamper, so it will be easy for her to put them at their rooms.

 As Andie was about to leave she met Speer at the door, “I am here!”, Speer shouted, he suddenly noticed Andie was looking at him, “What are you looking at?”, he asked, she was wondering, why Speer is always getting home early, “Nothing, sorry”, she replied and leaves, then bikes her way to the grocery. 

Speer closes the door, “Amy!”, he shouts again, Amy comes down “How did the interview go?”, she asked, “They think I am too old for the job” he removes his necktie, sits on the couch, 

“What? We are running out of money!”

 “I know!”, he closes his eyes for a second and sighs, “Just give me a time, I will fix this ok?”, 

“No! What are we supposed to do now? Nobody can see me as a poor person!” she yelled, 

“Honey! We are talking about how we can get by in our lives, not on how others will look at you”, he uttered when Wilma suddenly goes downstairs hopping and smiling, “Dad, we will be having some shopping with my friends tomorrow, Can I borrow your card?”, she giggles, Speer exhales deeply as he hears what she said, “Darling not right now, money is kinda tight”, he told her, 

“What? No!”, I haven’t shopped for almost a month, do you think I will wear the same clothes again!”, she shouted, 

“Sorry, but there is nothing I can do”, Speer told her, 

Wilma’s faced frowned “You are the worst Dad ever!”, she yelled at him, 

“Wilma!”, Speer gets up and stares at her,

 “You will have new clothes, but you will starve, so choose!”, he shouted back, Wilma goes upstairs but stopped by her mother, “Here”, she puts money on her hand, “Have it for now”, she told her,

 “Amy! No!” Speer raised his brows at her. “One hundred dollars! Where am I suppose to shop with these? At the thrift store!”, she drops the money on the ground and goes upstairs, “I can’t believe this!”,

“Darling! Wait!”, Amy follows her.

When Andie opens the door, she was still carrying all the grocery bags by herself, she puts them down for a while and closes the door. The house was dead silent, “Is anyone here?”, she yelled, someone then comes down from the stairs, “Don’t shout I can hear you coming, Wilma and Speer were sleeping” Amy whispers loudly, “Oh sorry”, Andie afterward goes straight away to the kitchen, to place the foods for storage.

It was already eight in the evening, Andie was sitting on her bed as the books were scattered all around. She picks up her phone beside her to make a video call with Josh, “Hey”, she waves at him, “Hi, Andie”, he smiles at her, “We are going to have a test on Monday, do you want some help? We can study?”, she asked while writing something on her notebook, “

I am good”, he said to her, 

“Ok, by the way, how is your injury?”, 

“I am getting better, you have nothing to be worried about”, 

“that’s good to hear”, she told him,

 “Uhh, I still have something to do, see you next week”,

 “wa..wait” she was about to say something but he hangs up the call. Josh was lying on his bed, he was still holding his phone, “Sorry, Andie, I hope you can forgive me for what I will do”, he uttered, “I am just going to prove them wrong”.
