Before I could say anything, a sharp whistle cut through the air, Mira's head snapped to the side.
"Get down!" she shouted.
It was too late. An arrow shot out of the darkness. It was really fast and deadly.
Mira moved without thinking. She pushed me aside. The arrow hit her shoulder.
While a sickening sound followed. She gasped. Her body jerked.
"Mira!"
I rushed toward her, but she grabbed my arm tightly.
"Don't," she said through clenched teeth. Her breathing changed.
"It's poisoned…" My chest tightened. "No…"
Her eyes darkened instantly.
"Run." I shook my head immediately. "I'm not leaving you!"
More footsteps filled the forest, immediately the guards alarmed Alpha Kael.
Coming from everywhere. We were surrounded. Mira slowly stood up.
