15 PENN Penn cannot cloak himself – there are no open windows at the Beast of Breath to let in the night. He shouldn’t want to do it, either, but he remembers Cody, bathing in the pond. He turns that memory over in his head, the way she turned his name on her tongue, and grins. He’s lying on his back, a quilted coverlet beneath him, admiring the Fire Scales painted on the ceiling.
