Delilah
I don't even get annoyed that my hair got messed up on the ride to my aunt and uncle's house. We walk up to the front door, and before I ring the doorbell, I turn to him.
"I must apologize in advance for my family's behavior. They are going to do the absolute most. They will probably question you to death. Just ignore them." He gives me a look. "I'm not going to ignore your family. Don't worry about it. I'm sure they're fine," I shrug. "Just remember that I warned you," I say before lifting my hand to ring the doorbell. The good thing is that he has already met a big portion of the family due to the club, so it shouldn't be weird.
The door flies open before I even get a chance to ring the bell. "Delilah, sweetie. I'm so glad to see your face." My aunt pulls me in for a hug and pulls away. She glances behind me. "Hi there. Come in," she steps to the side so we can walk in. "Everyone is out back. Go ahead. They're all waiting for you," she gestures towards the back door.

I follow Delilah through the living room of her aunt's house. She slides a patio door open and steps down into the backyard. I follow closely behind.
"Delilah," her name is called from different directions. She turns one way, and she receives hugs, then she is shoved into someone else's arms, and she is given kisses and more hugs. I assume these are mostly her family members, as they all look the same.
Something twists inside of me. On the one hand, I am extremely happy that she has support from her family. After the story, she told me of her father abandoning her and her mother. On the other hand, it makes me miss my siblings even more. I literally have no-one left in this world.
"Here, you look too skinny." An older woman shoves a plate into Delilah's hands. "Yes, you need to eat more. It isn't all about work, my dear," a woman who looks a lot like her mother, but older says. Delilah groans. "Can you guys not start with me today? Please?" One of the older woman rolls her eyes but nods. "Fine, but this isn't over. I don't like what you are doing to yourself, little girl," Delilah just waves at them. "Come on," she tells me as she places the plate on a random table.
I follow her deeper into the backyard. I look back, and her whole family is staring at us. Her mom even waves. I turn back around and continue following her. We walk for a little bit. "Is this all their property?" She nods. "Yup, my uncle, Lincoln, purchased all of this land and built everything you see here. He works hard to always given my aunt and cousins the best. They wanted a big house with a huge yard and they got it. My grandpa, uncles and the bikers all helped built something here. Everyone you see here is a family. Everyone works together. We all stick together." I nod. That sounds amazing, actually. Not like where I come from. They turn their backs on you so quickly.
She crawls under a broken fence until she is on the other side. She waves me over. I look down, then back up at her. "Don't tell me you are afraid of dirt? Come on," she chuckles. I give her a smirk and climb under. "See that was easy," she sticks her hand out. I grab it and get up. "We are almost there,"
She brings me to what looks like an old play area, but there is what looks like a wrecked boat here. I have never seen anything like this. "Where are we?" She looks at me and sits on the tire swing. She begins pushing herself slowly. "This was our play island growing up. When it was my aunt and uncle's turn to host, all of us kids would come play out here. My cousins never got a tree house built, because my aunt is very paranoid. She was injured as a teenager, and that made her very cautious of everything. So a tree house was out of the question, so we came up with the idea of an island." Her cheeks turn a little pink. "That's pretty cool," I say. I sit in front of her on the ground and just watch her. She is so f*ck!ng beautiful. I already love her vibe, and she is super sweet, funny and keeps the conversation going.
"So, tell me about yourself, Delilah," I sit here and listen to her try to downplay who she is as a person, what she wants for her life, and what she has accomplished so far. I notice how she downplays every single achievement. She compares herself to her friends and her cousins, and she brings up her father, who abandoned her. She also talks about her biological grandfather being a piece of cr@p. She tells me how he was a horrible father to her mother, and how Monster stepped up for her mother and siblings. I try my best to cheer her up, because the conversation becomes deep and I can feel her shift.
"Let's talk about something else?" I nod. "Do your family events go on til late?" She looks like she is thinking. "Sometimes, but because it is Alex's birthday, it will probably end here, and the men will go to the club and end it over there," I don't miss the bite to those words. "Why do they end it over there?" She looks at me like I grew two heads. "What do you mean? Is that a trick question? The hang arounds? Sweet butts? You know the club property. They go have fun with those women," I can't believe I stup!dly asked. Those women didn't even cross my mind. All I have been able to focus on is Delilah. She is like a breath of fresh air. I don't give a sh1t about the club wh0res. I am so attracted to her. I wonder what it would feel like to be with her. I shake those thoughts immediately.
"Can I take you out after the party?" Her eyes widen. "Oh, I thought you'd want to tag along with the guys," she chuckles awkwardly. "No, I want to take you out. I want to keep getting to know you." She bites her lip and nods. "Okay," her phone rings. She answers it. "Mhmmm, okay, okay grandpa. We will be there right away. Yes sir. Love you, too," she hangs up and gets off the swing. "They are about to cut the cake. We have to go," She tells me about the adventures she had here growing up. We crawl back through the fence and get back to her family.
All eyes are on us, and I suddenly feel extremely hot. Monster folds his arms over his chest and I can feel his death stare on me. That man is intimidating, but we ar not doing anything wrong.
"I don't want you exploring and going over to the island by yourself, girly pop. It's not safe," Monster says. He gives me a look of disgust. Delilah turns bright red, and her cousins start laughing. "Grandpa, stop calling me that," He looks confused. "What? Girly pop? What's wrong with that name? You are my girly pop. I named you that since you were born. It's not changing now. I don't even know your real name at this point," she just shakes her head. Her cousins pounce on her, call her girly pop, and they pull her with them to sing happy birthday to her cousin, Alex. Monster walks over to me. "Follow me, Venom."
