The Next Day

1415 Words
I woke up the next morning wondering what had even happened last night. I've never had a one night stand like it. I crawled out of bed with my head banging from my hangover and headed to the kitchen as Abi walked through the front door in last nights dress.  "good morning you cheeky thing" winking at me as she giggled, I know she wanted to hear all about my night before she event had to ask.  "Yeah no I had a great night thanks, how about you?  She rambled on about how romantic and wonderful her one-night stand was but all that was stuck in my head was my night and Dan just waltzing into my house and taking control of everything."  are you going to see him again" she added at the end of her story. "oh uh no, I don't need some boy coming into my life messing it up" boy was not the right word for Dan he was a man or a beast even in both stature and personality. Abi nodded her head and shrugged before heading off to her room to catch up on sleep. After I ate some bread and drank a load of water I headed for a shower and got ready for the day before sitting down at my desk and staring at the piles of papers surrounding me. I sighed all I could think about was last night how his rough hands caressed my skin and how I could still feel him deep inside me. No Cat I have to focus, I have no time for this and just as I was about to get stuck into it my phone rang. Unknown number. I rolled my eyes knowing it would probably just be a prank call but my curiosity got the better of me and I picked up.  "Hey Babygirl, how is my girlie doing this morning"  I stayed silent, damnit I forgot I gave him my number in my drunken mess  "Are you doing okay?" the deep rumbling voice went through me I knew it had to be Dan  "I'm fine!" I surprised myself with the harsh tone that left my lips and ended the call. Great now he's calling me, exactly what I didn't want or need right now. I buried my head into my work using all my energy not to think of him and keep my focus. I worked all through the day without stopping to eat, I knew that if I did my mind would go running back to Dan's muscles.  It reached 7 pm and my tummy grumbled and ached from all the alcohol I had and from all the food I didn't have. I searched the cupboards for something to eat but we had nothing substantial, half an onion, milk, bread and that was about it. I threw on my coat and grabbed my bag and headed out to buy some pasta or noodles or something, I was starving at this point. I hurried around the shop for something to ease my hunger while trying to stop my tummy from grumbling and embarrassing me in public. Then the all-mighty pot noodle came into view, perfect, my guilty pleasure, it was quick and easy while also knowing it would fill me up. I know it isn't healthy but at this point, I didn't care, I reached out to grab a pack of four when someone leaned against the shelves behind me.  "That's not what a princess needs to eat to stay healthy"  I rolled my eyes scrambling for a comeback "who the fu-" as I turned I saw it was him, dark blue jeans hug his muscly legs and a grey baggy hoodie hanging off his body, much different attire from the fancy shirt last night. Great now he was stalking me. he raised his eyebrows knowing I was about to swear, I closed my mouth and turned back around to ignore him. He didn't even have a basket with he was for sure a creep, right weirdo following me into a shop. I grabbed the pot noodles and stormed away while I heard him laughing behind me. t**t. I could hear his footsteps following behind me as I headed to the register to pay for my items then get out of there as quickly as I could. I placed my noodles on the conveyor belt facing forward not taking any interest in what he was doing, I knew what guys like him wanted, attention and lots of it so if I wanted his to disappear I would simply have to ignore him. Obviously, my plan didn't work, the cocky guy just placed his fancy cheese next to my stupid pot noodles and smiled at the staff before stating that we were paying together. I gave him a glare. He got out his credit card, defiantly not a student thing to own,  and simply just tapped the card machine while smiling at me knowing this was winding me up. I thanked him and dashed for the door with my pot noodles before he grabbed me "Please let me give you something decent to eat, I'm already halfway through cooking it, I believe you do owe me one after I have just bought your original dinner" he looked at the noodles I had in my hand with disgust. I nodded, it was probably better for me and he did to be fair just buy my food, what could go so wrong. I walked behind him into the car park when he hopped into a black car and waited for me to get in too. Should I do this? what if he kidnaps me, or worse, how can I trust him.  "You'll regret not getting in" he teased, I rolled my eyes, he surely can't be that bad. If he wanted to do anything to me he would of the first night and I jumped in the car. He tried not to smile as he drove off which ended up more like an evil smirk, I shook that away, I was in the car now I just had to wait and see what happened next. Within a 15 minute drive, arrived at his house. A two-bedroom detached house in the rich part of town, I braced myself for maybe a flatmate or parents maybe, there was no way he could afford this place by himself at his age. That is if he was as young as I thought he was, my guess was early 20s but you never know these days. He led me to the door and held it open to me like a gentleman letting me go in first. As I stepped inside his house was like a man cave. tidy and clean.  He had no decorations or a homely feel. just a huge TV connected to a game console with a few books scattered around. I heard the door lock shut which snapped me back into the moment.  I looked around the room for any signs of another person living here but there were no signals that there was, I was alone with this beast of a man. I gingerly sat down at his dining table with a couple of books in the middle. All about knots, maybe he was into climbing or sailing and needed to know these kinda things, strange man. I knew so little about him yet I was sat in their dining room with him making me dinner. My tummy growled as I grabbed it trying to calm the monster in my belly. Dan turned and laughed before asking "hungry?" I nodded as he placed a huge bole of some fancy kind of vegetable pasta in front of me. I didn't stop to wait for him to sit down, I could see him open his mouth to say something but realised I was too invested in my food and decided to leave me be. I scoffed the food down I probably wasn't looking very attractive but I didn't care this food was amazing and I needed it. When we both finished we sat in silence as his deep brown eyes analysed my every move, I shuffled in my seat feeling uncomfortable with the tension that had been created between us.  "babygirl, I have a confession" breaking the tensions like scissors cutting the invisible string between both of us. His claim made me tense up inside, I braced myself for what he could possibly say.
