“Are you okay?” I didn’t know who it was. The voice was deep. “I saw you just run out of class. What happened?”      I turned. “Who are you?” I was crying now.      “I’m Trevor Vansing, the boy you were just sitting next to. You’re Olivia.”      “Yeah, obviously you’ve heard.” I was annoyed now. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I knew it was rude, so I didn’t. “I’m just the new girl everyone's’ going to pick on and talk about. I’ve heard the rumors. How are you any different?”     “I’m not judging you. I want to be your friend and help you.”      “Why? You’ve heard the rumors, I’m sure you’ve heard.” I turned to walk away. He stopped me.      “I have, but I don’t care what they say. This school is full of assholes. They don’t give a shit.” He pleaded.      “And you do?” I was confused. I could tell he was different from the rest, but based on everyone else, it could all just be an act.  Trevor’s P.O.V.      “Yes. These idiots have driven out a dozen new kids in the last year. I don’t want you to be 13.” I said. I was pleading with her.     When I saw her for the first time, there was something about her that was different. When she ran out, I couldn’t let her go. I left right after her. Now I was here trying to get to her. I thought maybe she would need a friend. I didn’t know if the rumors were true or not, but I wasn’t letting her leave before the first hour was even over. I liked her, but she needs a familiar face and one that’s not a negative one or a teacher.      “Then prove it to me,” she said. She was shaking.      I reached forward, pulling her in a hug. I wiped the tears from her cheeks with my thumbs. I could feel her stiffen under my touch, so I pulled back. There was a spark. She, then, pulled completely away.      “I do care,” I said, looking down at her. “The rumors were right about one thing; you are gorgeous.”      She just stood there, a small smile creeping on her face and a light blush. Behind her, Mr. Stokes turned the corner.      “Trevor, back to class,” he said. I was about to protest when I knew it wasn’t the best idea, so I didn’t.      “Olivia, are you coming, too?” I asked her.      “I’ll take care of her.” Mr. Stokes bud in.      “She can answer for herself. She doesn’t need your help.” I snapped at him.      “Class now! Or it’ll be the office, Trevor,” he snapped back at me. His face was tense and bright red.      I gave her a quick smile and said, “See you later. Join us at lunch, me and my friends. You’ll like them.” Mr. Stokes glared at me and I went back to boring health class.
