Shivaan gulped when he saw Mishti in her figure-hugging chocolate brown and burnt orange dress with her soft curls cascading down her shoulders. He put his arms around her tiny waist and kissed her softly. Mishti handed Shivaan a gift bag, “Mr Gadha, time to change your mischievous ways.” Shivaan grabbed the bag excitedly like a kid getting free candy. He stared in shock at the positive pregnancy test inside the baby bottle. He was overjoyed, he spun Mishti around and started showering her with kisses. Mishti placed her hand on Shivaan’s chest, “We are going to be late for the party. I was thinking of telling everyone the good news at Christmas Dinner.” Shivaan kisses his glowing wife passionately, “Baby, I think that is a great idea.” Sonia, Yash’s niece and Shivaan’s PA grabbed the mike. “Everyone listen up, Aunt Nisha just called, they are five minutes away from the venue, it is Showtime.” Yash looked at the entrance of the hall and frowned, “Nisha, are you sure we are at the correct venue, this place is in complete darkness.” Everyone yelled, “SURPRISE!!!” Yash jumped, clearly startled. He was amazed to see all the special people in his life gathered to celebrate with him. The boys rushed to hug their father, “Happy birthday old man,” they both said in union. Yash smirked, “I may be older, but I can definitely bust out a move or two.” Alok smiled cheekily, “Is that a challenge, old man.” Drishti pulled Alok by the collar. “How about you challenge someone your own age, unless you are scared of losing.” The crowd were cheering in the background, “Dance challenge, Dance challenge, Dance challenge.” Sonia shouted peering at the crown with her long lashes while her wavy burgundy streaked hair fell over her petite shoulders. “I officially declare a dance off between my charming cousin Alok and the beautiful Drishti.” Alok smirked but was caught off guard when he heard Drishti whisper, “let’s make this challenge even more interesting, winner gets to choose a punishment for the loser.” Alok’s smile widened, “Challenge accepted, my tigress, be prepared to be punished.” Drishti could feel her cheeks heat up, why was Mr Dumbass having this effect on her.” Drishti started off with the sizzling-hot Garmi dance and ended with water by Tyla, needless to Alok was left drooling, his pants becoming uncomfortably tight in a certain area. He was fuming after noticing many men gaping at his tigress with lust and desire. A jealous Alok, instead of flying solo for his performance, grabbed Drishti’s hand, pulling her towards him, encircling her curvaceous waist, startling her as the song Dekha Tenu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve (When I saw you for the first time, my heart began to grow restless) started to play. Drishti’s heart hammered like a drum as Alok twirled her around. She could feel his warm breath against her neck. She felt hypnotized until her spell was broken by the crowd cheering. Unfortunately for Drishti, Alok’s bold move had entranced her, causing her to lose. She gulped when she heard Alok whisper, “Be prepared for your punishment, my tigress, soon I am going to finally tame you.” Drishti swallowed hard, her bubbly cheeks turning crimson red as she wondered, “How could Mr Playboy have this effect on me. Am I really falling for Mr Dumbass.” Drishti was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt someone squeeze her hand, only to see Divi smiling at her. Shivaan dragged Yash on to the beautifully decorated stage, everyone began to cheer when Yash blew out the candles. Mishti noticed a strange figure with a black Hoodie; she looked at Shivaan and noticed a red laser-like dot. She realized Shivaan was in danger and lunged forward to push him out of the way. Suddenly she felt her body going limp as she was engulfed by darkness. The crowd erupted in a panicked frenzy. Shivaan looked at Mishti, he felt the warm red liquid seep on to hand when the realisation finally donned on him that his selfless wife had taken a bullet meant for him. Shivaan carried a barely breathing Mishti toward the exit, Divi rushed out, sitting in the back seat of the Mercedes cradling Mishti whilst adding pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding. Shivaan drove like a maniac to Victoria Hospital, followed closely by the Frenemies pair, Alok and Drishti, who were accompanied by Yash and Nisha. Shivaan felt his heart being ripped as he placed his wife on a stretcher, “Please save my wife and child,” he cried. He watched helplessly while his wife was being wheeled into the theater. It was the first time his family saw him completely broken. Alok tried to comfort his brother while Drishti was busy consoling their parents. Shivaan began pacing the foyer leading to theatre, startling everyone when he slammed his hand against the wall in frustration. “It has been four f##king hours and still no news.” Sonia rubbed Shivaan’s back soothingly. “Shivaan, Mishti is a strong woman, she will be ok,” said Sonia. Yash replied, “Yes Sonia, our daughter is resilient, she will come back to us.” Their conversation was cut short when they heard the theater door open. Shivaan rushed towards the doctor. “Doc, how is my wife and child.” Everyone gasped in shock at the word child. Dr Smith looked at Shivaan with sadness. “I’m sorry, Mr. Kapoor, we tried everything, but we could not save the baby. Your wife has lost a lot of blood; we are in the process of arranging O NEGATIVE blood.” Shivaan collapsed to the ground sobbing, “Why does it keep happening, how do I tell my Babygal that our happiness has been snatched from us?” Divi and Nisha tried to console a shattered Shivaan. Drishti rushed toward Dr. Smith, “Don’t worry Doc, I will get tested, I’m sure I am a match for my sister.” Divi gulped when she heard Drishti. She knew her worst fear was coming true. The truth about Mishti was going to be revealed….
