Day 23

When I realized what he was doing I had already kissed him back. My body worked on its own accord, my hands found their way into his hair and his hands were on my hips. He backed me up until I bumped into a bookshelf, then hitched my legs off the ground and around his waist. This was the relationship I wanted with my mate. His hand let go of my waist and held my neck, pulling my lips towards his.

When I finally came to my senses and tried to pull away, his hand was holding me put. By now I had stopped moving my lips and it probably wasn't very pleasant to kiss but I didn't know what to do anymore. When he pulled away, the look in his eyes melted my heart right on the spot. He crinkled his eyebrows and brought his hand up to wipe my cheek. I hadn't realized I had been crying.

"I'm so tired of all the games" I sighed.

"No more games" I wanted to believe him. I was so tired. Tired of always coming second to the person who mattered the most. I rested my head on his shoulder. This is what I wanted.

Suddenly the door busted open and Cole froze in the doorway. His eyes narrowed in on me and Aidan and his face turned three different shades of red before he stormed up to Aidan and ripped him away from me.

"What's your problem?" Cole yelled at him

"My problem? What's yours. She's my mate I can do what I want"

"You can't force her to love you"

"I didn't"

"The Alpha command? The only reason she kissed you just now, isn't because she loves you. It's because you told her to"

"How would you know? "

"When you hurt her so bad that she told me" Aidan's head whipped in my direction to look at me. He had a wild look in his eyes.

"You told him? Why the hell would you do that?" I tried to take a step back, but I was already pressed against the wall

"I... I..."

"Don't get her involved" Cole looked even angrier than Aidan was "I'm glad she came to me. Not even her worst enemies would wish for her to be forced into loving someone.”

"It's not force if she enjoys it"

"She only enjoys it because she's not in her right mind"

"She's my mate. I can do what I want"

"You don't own her"

"What did you want me to do then? I'm an Alpha, I need a mate"

"As do I, but I live perfectly fine without one," Aidan looked taken aback. "you are a sick, sick person" Aidan lunged for Cole and before I had the chance to see what was going on, Aidan was straddling Cole and punching his face repeatedly. Cole pushed him off, stood up and kicked him in the stomach a few times before Aidan stood up and fought back. I finally came to my sense and I tried to pull Aidan away from Cole, but I was still weak, and he was twice as big as I was. Cole's face looked badly bruised and Aidan had a split lip.

Without really thinking, when I saw Cole lunged for Aidan once again, I threw myself in front of Aidan. The full force of Cole came crashing through me and I was pushed over onto the ground. As soon as Cole realized that he had landed on me and not Aidan, he pushed himself up and helped me up.

"Mia, I'm sorry"

"You're trying to help, but you're only making it worse" I left the boys glaring at each other in the room. As soon as I stepped out of the room, I could hear Aidan say to Cole, "This is your fault". I left the pack house and went to the field of corn. I didn't run into anyone on the way there, and it was for the better.

Once I reached the cornfield, I walked towards the center of the field and sat down. The corn was just shorter than my eyesight level, so I could still see.

What was I going to do?
