Ryker's point of view

The moment I left her in the room I found the doctor, explained to him her situation and went to find Cole. I knew he would want to know what was going on, since the two of them had developed a sort of bond. When I found him, I quickly explaining to him the situation in which I had found Mia in.

"I should've gone to check on her. I knew she wasn't feeling all right and I thought it was weird that I hadn't seen her in a while, but I didn't bother to look for her." He beat himself up, and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Relax she'll be fine, she just needs sleep." But from the state she was in, I didn't know if that would be true, I just didn't want to tell him. He got up from his desk in a hurry and made his way to the infirmary. When the doctor saw us, he rushed us outside and explained to us.

"She can't sleep. When she does her throat closes and she can no longer breathe. I could put her on sedatives to make her fall asleep, but it’s not a permanent solution. She’ll be able to sleep, but if she stops breathing she won't be able to wake up. I’m going to be closely watching her. I'm also going to be doing tests on her to see if we can help, but I think that we'll have to find more information from her old friends and family." The doctor went back into her room and Cole turned to face me.

"I'm calling Aidan" He began to walk towards his office.

"Are you sure that's such a good idea. He made it clear he didn't want anything to do with her" Cole had told me about Aidan and Mia a few days ago when the subject of me finding my mate came up in our conversation.

"They’re mates, and I'll be damned if this doesn't have anything to do with him." I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to fight with Cole when he was in this mood. He picked up his phone and dialed the number. Two rings later someone picked up the phone, but it wasn't Aidan, it was his beta Evan.

"Mia came to us a few weeks ago, hiding from Aidan and we took her in. She's not doing too well though" It was the only information Cole provided before we heard Evan say he'd be coming over with their pack doctor, who seemed to know more information than ours.

3 hours later, Evan and the pack doctor were standing at my doorstep. We exchanged quick pleasantries before bringing them to Mia's room. Our pack doctor and their pack doctor spoke quietly with one another while Evan went to speak with Mia. By now, the sedatives had worn off, the doctor unsure about giving her very strong one and when she saw Evan enter the room, she opened her arms asking for a hug but was too weak to get up and give one to him. Without hesitation, he swallowed her up in his arms and she took a deep breath into his shoulder.

"Am I going to die" I heard her whisper.

"Of course not" They pulled away and we went to join the doctors outside of the room.

"Aidan has been taking her energy. That's why she’s getting tired much faster than normal. Her body refuses to sleep because her mate mated with another girl and the only way to fix this is to get them together. For her to sleep, he needs to be near her and for the chocking to stop, they need to mate. This is all part of her heat." I watched as Evan bit his lip,

"He refuses to even speak about her"

"This is crucial to her survival. We need to get him to realize how much he needs her and to do this he needs to feel the effects of not being near her. And to do this, Mia has to cheat on him." We all sucked in a breath and exchanged looks. Which one of us would end up kissing her.

"She'll never do it if we tell her why we're doing it" Evan said,

"We have to convince her we really lover her" Cole adds

"It'll kill her when she realizes"

"She'll understand"

"No, she won't" Cole and Evan glared at each other

"I'll do it" I gaped at Cole. He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't have a mate, and if Evan does it, Aidan will be pissed at him."

"And what about me?" I asked

"Are we seriously fighting over who kisses the mated girl?" Cole threw his hands up towards me. I didn't answer his question, I didn't want to make a fool out of myself. "She trusts me, it won't take me very long"

"It better not" one of the doctors say. "This has to be as soon as possible." We all nodded.

"I need to get back to my pack. Keep in touch with me and tell me after the -- ugh... deed is done. I can pressure Aidan into finding her. We found the missing people from the pack a few days ago and he's been training non stop the past few days." With some final good-byes, Evan and his pack doctor left back to their pack and Cole and I stared long and hard at each other.

"When she finds out, she might never forgive you"

"It's for her own benefit" he grumbled,

"That might not be how she sees it" He just growled in response. Whatever, it's not like I cared about what happened to her in the end anyway. I was just being a good Alpha and keeping good relations with other packs. That's all.

I made a mental to-do list in my head, trying to think of all the steps left

-Cole kisses Mia

-Evan convinces Aidan to find her

-Aidan finds her

-She regains her energy

-They mate

-Mia forgives him?

I wasn't sure if Mia was going to forgive him or even mate him. I just hoped we didn't force her decision while she was still sleep deprived because I would hate it if she regretted her decision in the end. I guess for now though, we had to focus on step one: Getting Mia to kiss Cole.
