“What’s wrong with you?!” she yelled frustrated with how he is acting. He’s acting like he doesn’t care, like he doesn’t want to do anything with her anymore. But she can see it in his eyes, with the way that he talks, with the way that he looks at her. That he still wants her. That after everything that they’ve went through he still loves her. He still love every pieces of her. How she smiles, how her eyes twinkle when she’s looking at something that she loves, how electrifying her laughs are to him, how he could not take his eyes off of her, how happy she looks, how painful it breaks him whenever she cries and how she takes his breathe away just by simply looking at him.
“Nothing.” He answers trying to mask the feeling that wants to overflow off of him. Once again his ego is working way better than his feelings.
“Nothing?” she whispered to herself as she look at him. Nothing, once again everything is masked by his ego.
“Nothing.” He confirmed straightly looking at her eyes. He can see how painful his answers are to her but his mouth wouldn’t say anything otherwise. This time she looked away, the tears that she was trying not to spill were now streaming down her cheeks.
“I always try to make us work. I want to make us work. Why are you not trying?!” she yells grabbing a fistful of her hair. She just couldn’t understand. She’s trying everything. Nothing works. She always tries something to make them work. She’s given everything and when she’s about to give up that is when he tries to stop her from going away. And just like that she goes back to him to work things out but nothing happens.
“I’m sorry” he looked at her, seeing her in pain breaks him. The last thing that he wants to do is to put her in pain but she is in pain now and he couldn’t do anything. His feet are frozen and no matter how much he wants to put his arms around her to comfort her, his ego wouldn’t let him.
“What are you sorry about?” she walked over to him and stopped a foot away. She did not look up, she stayed looking at the ground with her now messed up hair and her stained cheeks, her sobs silently echoing through his ears.
“I-i-nothing” he couldn’t say what he is sorry about and more than anything else she is disappointed that once again he decided to just ignore their problems and look away from her. They had so many problems that they didn’t talk about and that was mainly because he did not want to talk about it, and whenever she tries to talk about it he would just bail, he would get mad and just completely block her out. In some sense that put her into some kind of bubble where she can only think of unfinished problems that they did not clear out. Problems that even if she didn’t want to go back to she couldn’t help but remember them because he wouldn’t clear it out.
She raised her right hand to touch his face and even before her hands touches his face he automatically leans to her touch. She looked up at him with sorrow in her eyes, she couldn’t deal with the pain anymore, she loves him, he loves her. But just because they love each other very much does not mean that they have to stay together. One that wants to talk and one that doesn’t. One that wants to understand and one that doesn’t really want to be understood.
“Am I nothing to you?” she asked looking at him before she lowered down her gaze along with her hands.
“W-what?” with this he looked alarmed for a minute before sighing.
“I am nothing to you” she looked up at him, smiling so brightly it blinds him. Just like how it blinds him her tears are also blinding his heart. She shook her head the turned away from him, walking away. He did not do anything to stop her, he did not do anything at all. He stood there looking at her disappearing figure with tears rolling on his cheeks. And as she disappeared his knees gave out and sobs started to erupt from his chest then he was bawling his eyes out. Crying for the love that was lost, crying for the disappearing figure that he loves.
She looked back to him in the darkness and she couldn’t help but cry with him, she held her hands to her mouth so that he wouldn’t hear her. This time they both know that even if they both do not want to let go of each other, their goodbye is for good.
I wanted to choose you and you took that away from me.
