At a mall, Scarlett planned to use her last few hundred dollars of living expenses to buy a seasonal outfit.
As she entered the elevator, a well-dressed woman squeezed in, looked her up and down, and suddenly smiled.
“Well, isn’t this Mrs. Rivers?”
Scarlett froze. Before she could react, the woman leaned in and lowered her voice. “Last night Mr. Rivers was at my place. Did you know that?”
Scarlett’s face turned deathly pale in an instant.
The woman stepped out of the elevator with a smile, leaving Scarlett standing there in a daze.
Only later did she learn that the woman was named Sienna, a minor, little-known actress.
Julian had recently been taking her to dinners, and people in their circle were already whispering that she had become Mr. Rivers’ new favorite.
