Confrontation And Shock

Alisson sat in her special room and stared at the figurines with unfocused eyes. Hunter, sensing her growing apprehension towards the redhead, had offered to show her around town this morning, an invitation that was joyfully accepted by a now-clothed Melody. Their departure left Alisson behind with a brooding Henry and her mind was busy calculating the best way to approach him that will end as peacefully as possible. She fiddled with the edge of the lace tablecloth and occasionally glanced at the clock. Breakfast had ended hours ago but she was yet to see Henry. Usually, he would take a break from his work and keep her company as she performed various tasks, so for him to break their normal routine so suddenly and without any explanation, set her on edge. Her wolf clawed at her and pushed for her to march upstairs and demand an explanation but her human side; which was the more logical of the two, insisted she read the situation first before taking any action. In the end, the wolf won the debate when it started fighting her for control; things would definitely get out of hand if her wolf were to take control and that was what she was trying to avoid. She stood up with hesitant determination, "right then, we haven't kept secrets from each other since we mated and we will not start now," she proclaimed out loud with false confidence. The walk to the study seemed more oppressive than usual. Her mind went over everything that could go wrong but her wolf disputed every single one of them and motivated her to do it. She made a split-second decision to charge in without knocking and startle him with the hope that he would feel intimidated by it. He did not look intimidated, just mildly irritated as he looked up; like Alisson was an insect he was hoping to get rid of but he was not bothered enough to try. "I demand an explanation for your behaviour," she rushed out hoping to move the conversation along before she lost her temporary backbone. He did not look amused, "excuse me?" He asked with a tilt of his head and one of his eyebrows raised. "You have been ignoring me," she accused with a raised voice and her index finger pointed at him. "I want to know why." She did not let him respond as she continued, "I don't understand why, I have been perfect, I haven't done anything you hate in such a long time and you haven't even told me anything or given me a clue as to why you're so upset." She ranted, her voice cracking at the end. It was as she said it out loud that she realised what her problem with the situation was, he has been upset with her a million times but he always made it known why he was upset. She felt out of kilter not knowing how to fix it this time. "It's not fair of you to crucify me without telling me what sin I have committed." Her face scrunched up painfully and she folded into herself, her short-lived bravery disappearing. His expression softened and he stood up from his seat then walked towards he, she tensed as if expecting a hit and relaxed when he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into him. She leaned into the hug and rubbed her face against his chest to take in his scent and leave her own on him. "I'm not upset with you, don't worry about it." He reassured her stiffly and she did not probe for more answers because she was rarely ever comforted by him and she wanted to enjoy the moment while it lasted. She left him to his work feeling light but heavy and made her way outside her home. She could hear the children playing and wolves working. It was a comforting sound and she stood there taking in everything. She suddenly felt the urge to run so she headed in the direction of the woods that surrounded the pack land and separated it from the rest of the world. Alisson had spent her childhood playing and running through it, she knew it intimately like all other wolves in her pack and did not hesitate to strip herself of her clothes and transform into her wolf form. Her electric blue eyes scanned the forest and took in the sight of greenery. She raised her snout in the air and inhaled deeply before taking off in a run. She tore through the vegetation with practised ease, weaving and manoeuvring through the trees and branches that got in her way. She leapt over logs and crashed through piles of leaves in feverish excitement. It was good to feel free, wonderful even. She came across some of the pack warriors who bowed their canine heads at her when they saw her coming but she refused to stop for them. This was her personal time and she was not going to let anyone interrupt it. She urged her legs to run fast as she got high off the rushing wind. She could feel her muscles burn in protest but she did not stop until she crashed into a log hidden among the fallen leaves. She fell with a pained yelp and trembled from the disorientation, wincing at the pain of the gash in her right flank. Alisson licked at her injury and watched it slowly knit itself back together. It was time to head home and from the look of the sun, almost time for dinner. She shook the leaves from her fur and started her journey home. This time she stopped to acknowledge her people as she should have. Alisson quickly put on her clothes and rushed back into the house. She walked into the kitchen mentally going over everything she would need for tonight's meal only for her to let out a surprised gasp at the sight that greeted her. Her mate and dare she say the love of her life was fondling and passionately kissing their house guest in her kitchen and their home. "What is the meaning of this?" She heard herself ask over the buzzing in her head. Henry snapped his head in her direction like he was surprised to see her in her own kitchen. "Oops, looks like the cat's out of the bag," Melody said with a confident and challenging grin. "The audacity you must have to come into my home and do this is incredible," Alisson said with a confused and dumbfounded look on her face. The redhead returned it with one of her carefree smiles, like what she was doing was not taboo of the worst kind. She felt her wolf clawing its way to the surface with a frightening fury. It wanted to rip the filthy wench apart and gnaw on her bones. Her eyes glowed blue and she growled out through clenched teeth, "get out!" She felt gleeful satisfaction when she saw the other woman lose the smile on her face and flinch back. "NOW!" The redhead fled the room trying her best to not touch the brunette who took up most of the space by the door. "Alisson I can...." She held her hand up urging him to keep silent and for the first time in his miserable existence, he did as he was told. She tilted her head down and fixed him with an empty stare from hooded glowing blue eyes. Her wolf was howling in grief and a need for vengeance, she wanted them to rip him apart but also take comfort in his embrace. Alisson could not deal with the conflicting emotions so instead, she chose to leave.
