He flipped the album's sleeve and noticed that someone had scrawled snatches of song lyrics next to the musician credits. It was somewhat hard to read (whoever made those sleeve notes had some very poor penmanship) but the content of that text came clearly through to him: 'We left our town to reach California With promises of eternal love Selling everything we had With no credit cards All the cash stashed in one place. You left me at the gas station after a nasty fight I stepped down the car to fill the tank And as the fuel gauge needle told you it was full You hit the pedal to the metal and left me behind You left me at the gas station after a nasty fight I got a surprise for you, honey You may have a tank full of gas But you'll never reach California For as you left my love
