CHAPTER 34 : Savior And Consequence

3173 Words
Waking up in the unfamiliar dungeon of pain, my face twitch as a strike of torment rushed to my left leg. “Don’t move. The medicine will take time to effect and lessen the pain.” It was a familiar voice of a man, that send terror to my whole system. ‘How did he find me?’ Is that mean, he saved me from the cops? And I wasn’t dreaming all along. “If you were trying to hide from everyone, you shouldn’t have made a noise like that.” He added, he could probably read questions inside of my head, when he throws me a cold gaze, his scarlet eyes were reflecting the sunlight’s array. “I-I didn’t do it.” “I know.” He looks away and took a sip in a mug he was holding. I just notice where we are, it looks like we’re on the highest floor of a building. I can’t help but be amazed at the expensive-looking buildings that surround us, it could be seen as the walls were made of thick glass, but transparent. ‘Does he owns this?’ “We’re still in Chicago Illinois.” “But we will be leaving tonight.” “W-What?” “Why? Do you want to spend your time in jail forever?” My eyes slowly widened, “I didn’t kill him, why would I be afraid?” I asked. “Do you think your words will be enough in the human world?” Looking away, I knew already what he was talking about. Britanny made everything clear to me. “Where are we?” I managed to ask when he motioned to leave the room. “Where do you think?” My forehead creased; his cold voice was enough to tell me that he doesn’t want to prolong this conversation at all. “How would I know? The last time I knew, cops were chasing me…” I paused for a moment. “Then I’ll just find myself lying on this bed.” I continued and took a short glance at the cloth I am wearing. It was still the same as what I’m wearing yesterday. “You should’ve thanked me instead of throwing such unreasonable and nonsense questions, and don’t even bother to think that I did something to you. Just the thought of it makes me sick already. Get yourselves together, and rest. We will leave tonight.” He’s been very straightforward like he always does, and despite how rude and cold he sounded, it convinced me enough that nothing terrible happened the whole night. “T-Thank you.” I tried to say those words before his entirety vanished from my vision, but I doubt if he heard them. He left me alone in this huge room, not knowing what to do. Are we going back to the pack? When I felt like my eyes were about to close, I just let myself doze off, it was probably because of the medicine that he mentioned earlier. Opening my eyes, I can’t help but be mesmerized by the sunset just right in front of my eyes. A small smile escapes my lips. Roaming my eyes, I no one is inside aside from me, didn’t he come back yet? I forced myself to stand up, even though my vision wasn’t stable yet. I walk towards the glass of water on the table, as thirst swarms up in me. But the moment I put the edge of the glass onto my lips, my vision suddenly swirled making me freeze, the glass slipped out of my hand, and it created a broken sound as it fell on the floor. But that’s the least of my concern now, my head started aching and I felt numb, my eyes then settled on my left leg which was now bleeding. Expecting my body to hit the marble floor in just a few seconds, but to my surprise, I landed on two firm arms, as his scarlet met mine again. But no matter how tense the situation is for me, his eyes remain cold. No emotion could be read from it. Until I felt the soft mattress at my back, my eyes didn’t leave his. But it broke when he glanced at my leg that’s currently bleeding. “Why am I expecting that you’ll heal fast when you can’t even shift.” It doesn’t sound like a concern one rather an insult to me. I was ready to make fight with him when he moves fast and took a kit on the corner. He started cleaning my wound and put a new bandage on it, and it shocked me to watch how gentle he was on it. Gone is the fierce and tough-looking Alpha of the Black Stygian pack, however, my respect rose at what I’m witnessing right now. For an unknown reason, my heart soften and fluttered. ‘Did he take care of me the whole night?’ Taken aback when the door suddenly opened, and two familiar people entered the room. I think they were Alpha Priam’s men, they only throw me a short yet surprised glance before putting their attention on the Alpha, who’s still busy with my left leg. “Is everything set already?” Alpha Priam suddenly asked. He knew that two people are watching yet he didn’t even bother to stop what he was doing. I just thought it was kind of odd for an Alpha like him to do such a thing. “Y-Yes Alpha.” “There were cops in the airport, waiting for her. But we find another way to dodge them.” One of them added. Alpha Priam only nods before finishing up everything. “Bring her and her luggage in the car.” He ordered before standing up, not throwing me a gaze. The two quickly obeyed as they walk towards me and gently carried me. I wanted to just walk, but it would be hypocritical of me, I knew with my leg’s condition, that was impossible. The other one took my luggage, and we followed the Alpha who was walking in front of us. When we entered the elevator, silence fill us. “Was he in his office now?” Alpha Priam suddenly asked piquing my curiosity. “Yes, Alpha.” The one holding my luggage answered. “Let’s stop by there first.” Alpha Priam retaliated. “But Alpha, isn’t it a bit dangerous for her?” The one holding me asked this time. Is he talking about me? But Alpha Priam didn’t bother to respond until we reached the ground floor and entered a black car. The man who carried my luggage sat in the driver's seat; he was taking a short glance at Alpha Priam. Probably waiting for him to say a word concerning the conversation earlier in the elevator, but the latter seemed to be not interested to speak. The driver heaved a deep sigh and focus on the road instead, I’m still clueless about what it is all about until we stopped by a huge mansion. “We’re here Alpha.” Alpha Priam leaves the car without saying a word. “W-where are we?” I asked. Silenced fills the air inside, “maybe I should check it out myself.” I uttered instead when I felt that none of them doesn’t have plans to answer me. “Chandria, just stay here. It would be better if no one will see you.” One of them finally speaks up. “Why? Who was Alpha visiting here?” I asked again. “If I didn’t hear a word from you…” “It’s Mr.Thorr Elkins.” My eyes slowly widened, he’s the father of Timothy. ‘Why in the world?’ “Does it have to deal with the murder of his son, Timothy?” I asked bravely, and when I didn’t get a response from them, it triggered me. My curiosity won’t put me at peace, and I just found myself running inside the mansion, following Alpha Priam. The two didn’t bother to chase me, they probably think that we could attract attention from the people outside. I managed to dodge the two guards at the huge gate, they were distracted by their phones so I didn’t have a hard time dealing with them. Unfortunately, my left leg started sending me pain, which slowed down my walking more. I just made sure that I didn’t make any noise, as I traced where Alpha Priam is right now. But when I stopped in front of a black door, my eyes gazed at the slightly parted door of it. “I killed your son.” It was Alpha Priam’s voice and did he just confess to the victim’s father? “First, he barged into my Luna’s suit, and even planned to kill her.” ‘H-How did he know about that?’ ‘Does it means that he was there when Timothy attacked me?’ He heard how I lied and claimed to be his Luna, for a reason. “Second, according to my connection. You killed a hundred humans in the city, with the power you have right now, it’s not impossible. And both of us knew how forbidden it is in our world.” “You and your son deserve to be punished, by death.” He continued, I couldn’t even hint fear in his voice. “Even though you stated all those reasons. It won’t change the fact that you killed my son. I’m a father right now, not a werewolf who’s thinking of those sh*t rules that I’ve been defying since we step on this city…” “Then just think of it as a consequence, you should be thankful that you’re still breathing right now.” Alpha Priam cut him off. “How dare you put the law in your hands? You’re just an Alpha of the Black Stygian pack…” “And the son of one of the four rulers. However, that doesn’t give me the right to punish someone who doesn’t belong to my pack, but I did it so you could feel how to be played by someone who puts the law in his hands. That’s exactly how you manipulate these clueless humans in their world, by using your money and power.” Alpha Priam cut him off. ‘Does it mean that his father was one of the four rulers?’ That’s surprising. The four rulers are those who made laws in the werewolf’s world, and they were living in the palace in England as humans, they were well respected and now I had an idea of how powerful Alpha Priam's father is, and basically, it has been inherited by his son, now that he’s gone. “If you don’t want to lose the power you have right now, you shouldn’t do such silly things that’ll make you end up like your son. Don’t test my patience.” Alpha Priam warned him before I heard heavy steps nearing me, but he stops when Thorr Elkins called him. “Have you forgotten that I am an Alpha of the Elkins pack in Northern England?” Thorr Elkins suddenly asked. “Now you’re bragging about the pack that you abandoned for this life.” Alpha Priam retaliated. “But with what you did to my son, it only means you flame up a fire of war between our packs.” “Do you think I am afraid of that? That would be better though, leave these humans alone, and go back to where you belong.” Alpha Priam’s voice was full of authority, and because I’m still stunned by what I heard, I don’t know where I will hide, and I was just caught in the act by him, my heart started hammering at a fast pace. “You wanted to keep troubling yourself, aren’t you?” He asked as his cold gaze lingers on me but passes me by after a couple of seconds. I followed him despite how my leg throbs. I wasn’t regretting what I did anyway, if I haven’t done that then I wouldn’t be able to discover that it was him who killed that psychopath, that explains how horrendous his death was. When we entered the car, his two men looks bothered and throw me a glare. “We apologized Alpha…” “Just drive.” Alpha Priam cut him off before he slowly closes his eyes. “D-Did you killed him?” I asked suddenly which made me want to take back what I just said when he opened his eyes, and glance blankly at me. “Why? Do you want to have the same fate?” He asked, it looks an empty threat but for me, it was a sign that I should just keep my thoughts within me. The whole ride was pure silence, only the sound of the engine could be heard. Until we reached the airport. “Should we proceed to plan A, Alpha?” The one who was driving asked. “No, I doubt if they’re still waiting for her.” Alpha coldly replied before getting off from the car. The one who carried me earlier throw me a frown. “Tell me you could walk? You’ve done it earlier didn’t you? You even run.” He mockingly reminded me. I bit my lip suppressing myself to say a word as I can’t make him angry, or he’ll leave me here. “I’m sorry.” Rolling his eyes, he slowly moved towards me and carried me. My eyes darted at the huge airport and got curious when I saw no one there. “Where are the other passengers?” I asked. “Do you think Alpha Priam will ride in a public plane?” He asked back full of sarcasm. “Besides, your face was all over the news. Everyone thinks that you’re the culprit behind the famous wealthy CEO’s son. In short, you’re wanted in this city, or probably in this country, and it’s impossible to set foot on this land again without being jailed in just a few hours. So Alpha just avoids such commotion and wanted to get back to the pack peacefully. He shut the airport for the time being.” He briefly explained. “H-how can he do that?” I know he’s an Alpha, but we’re not in Russia. “Aside from being an Alpha of the Black Stygian, he has companies across the world. So basically, connections are just a cup of tea to him.” “Though, he focus on being the Alpha of our pack, so he could avenge Alpha Philemon’s death.” “But if things didn’t happen that fast, he was bound to manage their companies here, or even replace his father as one of the four rulers in England.” He added. That made my jaw drop as I pierced the back of the man who never failed to surprise and amused me. Is there a such thing that will stun me about him in the future? He is powerful. In short, he has all the authority to do a such thing even in the human world. “That's unbelievable…” I can’t manage but to whisper. “You’re lucky enough that he hasn’t been killing you for escaping so many times. Though, I wonder what awaits you when we return in the pack.” “If you just stick to our plans to abduct your twin sister, then things wouldn’t have gone worst like this…” “W-What do you mean?” I asked as his sentence piqued my interest. “Seems like you don’t have any idea what’s going on right now, aren’t you?” He asked back as a wide grin escape his lips. And I don’t know how I will explain it as my anxiousness rose, and my chest started pounding fast and loud. “Chantal is scheduled to be kidnapped today, it was an order from Alpha Priam…” “W-What?” “Probably she’s in possession of the Black Stygian pack now.” “Fred, faster, Alpha Priam was getting bored inside the plane.” Our conversation was being cut by the other man who exclaimed from the distance and waved his hands. We’re having a serious conversation, and we failed to notice how we take too much time already. “If you want to seek more information, ask Alpha Priam.” The man carrying me, whose name was Fred speaks again and started walking fast to a small plane compared to the one I ride when I got here in Chicago Illinois. But I shouldn’t have belittled it, because as soon as I entered the plane, no one was inside aside from Alpha Priam who’s seating on a luxury and high-tech seat, with a wine glass in his left hand. ‘Was it his private plane?’ Fred lies me on a bed with a soft white mattress on it, a bit distant from Alpha Priam, he was on my left side though I’m a bit in front, I can still see him in my peripheral view. A minute passed until the plane started taking off, Fred and the other one were in charge of the aircraft and seated in front. It seems like they were experienced with it, and it was surprising but it’s the least of my concern now, and throw Alpha Priam a short glance. His eyes were closed, but I doubt if he was asleep. “Why did you order to abduct Chantal again?” That question slipped into my mouth again. “I let you drag me here without any protest…” “You aren’t the one I need, Chandria. But your twin sister, you are the one who told me that Primo doesn’t care about you and you won’t be a loss to him.” At the mention of Alpha Primo’s name, my heart throbbed. “T-Then why are you taking me…” “Why? Do you want to stay there? Then sure…, we’re just six miles high from the ground, you could still jump off if you want to. Be my guest.” He throws me a cold gaze, but it was an empty rather challenging one. But no matter how intimidating his stare was, I locked my eyes on him and bravely speaks… “Leave Chantal alone, Alpha Priam.” He let out a small grin, “Who are you again?” “The only thing I knew is, the moment we land in the pack…” “Two possible things could happen…” “Either the silence of the night would greet us, or the screams of tormenting pain from the Luna of the Silver Mist pack. I was hoping it was the latter though…” “And after your twin sister, you will be the next in line. So, brace yourself as you’ll face the consequence of breaking the small trust I gave you, Chandria.”
