The sunlight strikes my face forcing my eyes to open. I was greeted by a familiar white ceiling, I’m inside my room. I bit my lip when I felt a stinging pain on my left cheek, I tried to turn to the left to face the mirror, and tears started sliding down freely when I saw a fresh long cut on it. Last night wasn’t a dream, my twin sister truly turned devil.
And today will never be an exemption, wait, no. I froze when a sudden image of him neared me, his scent, I felt his wolf get triggered, as our mate bond grew stronger.
Confusion suddenly ate me when my eyes landed on the white crumpled paper next to the table.
See me, as soon as you woke up. - Primo
I smiled. It was really him. Yes, Alpha Primo and I were seeing each other for two years already, we were about to announce it publicly before until he became an Alpha. Our so-called relationship was forbidden unless he chose me as his mate, on our eighteenth birthday. Wait, tonight is the night we’ve been waiting for.
Chantal is right, she wouldn’t be able to trigger Alpha Primo’s wolf because I’m his mate. And I just hope she’ll accept her defeat later once she got rejected by him.
I smiled at the thought of it, for once in my life. I wanted to feel how to be chosen. Even though Chantal and I were twins, I barely get my parent's attention. The former Alpha and Luna of the pack were too focused on Chantal because she’s way stronger, and prettier than me. Chantal has smooth and white skin, while mine is light tanned, her hair is blonde and in big curls, while mine is black hair and straight. People wouldn’t mistake us who among us is Chantal, or Chandria, because, among the two of us, I am the negative in all features, as they say. We’re the same in height, however, I’m skinny while she has all the curves. We’re twins but her face screams perfection, I have some pimple marks and scratches, and now a long cut on my cheek. The only thing I could be proud of is my emerald eyes. I am the only one in the family with this eye color, all of them have brown. If Chantal and I don’t possess the same face, I might think that I’m adopted.
I shook my head. I am comparing myself to her again.
I glare at my reflection. Don’t worry Chandria, once you became Alpha Primo’s Luna, then people wouldn’t look down on you anymore, same with your sister who kept on bullying you. I smiled and pull myself up despite my legs being a bit frail with what happened last night.
The thought that I’ll be seeing Alpha Primo today energized me. I quickly do my morning routines and wore my favorite yellow dress covering my toes, I let my hair fall but no matter how I tried to smile in the mirror, the wound was ruining my mood.
I heaved a deep sigh and try to set it aside. But before I could go out of the room, an evil face greeted me with her annoying smile. No, let me rephrase that, since we have the same face, I couldn’t categorize myself as evil. She’s way more nailing it.
“Look at that face, it's so satisfying to see, we’re not twins anymore. I’m way prettier than you now. ” She commented.
“Then, will you stop now Chantal?” I asked calmly.
“You look unbothered huh? Well to answer your question, I’ll only stop once Alpha Primo finally chose me and became the Luna of this pack.”
“Then suit yourself then, can you give me some peace at least just for today?” I requested.
“Woah, are you accepting your defeat now huh?”
“I’m not in any competition with you Chantal.” I quickly shot back before I passed her by.
She couldn’t ruin this morning. The fresh air greeted me as soon as I step my feet out. I didn’t wait for her to respond since I don’t want to prolong our conversation anyway.
After I got satisfied with the vision of the fresh garden and the pool beneath me, I made a turn to face the downstairs, heading to the first floor of the mansion.
“Chandria, grab some breakfast.” Mom coldly stated as long as she saw me heading my way out.
“G-good morning mom.” It’s just in a low voice but good enough to be heard.
“Where are you going too early this morning, and what happened to your cheeks?” She asked again without even looking at me and instead put her gaze back at the newspaper she was reading while sipping on her coffee.
“I-I had…”
Should I tell her that Chantal did this to me? No, that wouldn’t be a good idea. The last time I told them how Chantal push me to the pool making me crawl for my life as I don’t know how to swim made them furious at me, they don’t believe me. They only saw her as the perfect future Luna of the pack, brave, beautiful, smart, and mature enough.
If they only saw how my life runs with her lingering around. One word could only describe it, it’s bullsh*t.
“She got that cut from cooking mom.”
I closed my mouth when Chantal’s voice erupted from behind.
“How many times should I tell you that cooking isn’t for everyone, Chandria.” Mom quickly ranted out.
I sighed in defeat.
“I’ll just have some fun with my friend's mom.” I just replied to cut the conversation.
“Oh, you got some friends now huh?” Chantal intervened mocking me.
I just ignored her and didn’t remove my stare at my mom.
“Fine, just be sure that you’ll be here before the dawn as we prepared for the 18th birthday celebration, it will soon be followed by the proclamation of the new Luna of the pack.” She continued, but her eyes were just fixed on Chantal, with a smile on her lips. I perfectly knew what she was thinking.
I just averted my gaze to my father who just entered the main door.
“You’re going out? You should be preparing for the celebration later, Chandria.” His baritone voice echoed in the whole mansion.
“It’s fine Nickolaus, we should focus on Chantal instead. Your gown is already upstairs Chantal, go check it out. You may now go, Chandria there’s also a dress for you, though it was my old robe it’s still fine. Don’t mind your father.” Mom tried to smile at me. I wasn’t able to smile back at what I heard. I wanted to ask where’s my gown too, but I chose not to, it will be just a waste of time. I shouldn’t have expected it.
“I’ll be going.”
After saying those words, I quickly ditch out of that suffocating area. They were really eyeing Chantal, they didn’t even bother to buy me a gown even the ugliest one. Yeah, I’m used to this, but it still hurts.

The sound of waves, setting back and forth welcomed me. This is the place where our love started. No one knew, because once they caught us, we were both doomed. Or worst, he’ll be able to lose being the Alpha of the pack.
“How’re your cheeks?” A soft yet firmed voice breaks the silence, followed by a heavy footstep, I shift my gaze at him.
“I-It was fine.”
“Your sister did it again huh?”
I took gasped of my breath as he walk slowly, nearing me. I don’t know why despite my wolf haven’t come out yet, our mate bond is getting stronger as we get closer to each other.
“I’m sorry, I was late last night.”He whispered as he slowly cupped my face, and gently caressed my cheeks.
“You wouldn’t able to stop her anyway.”I shot back and fake a smile.
“Don’t worry, after you chose me as your Luna later, everything will change.” I added cheerfully. It was like this is my only escape from the harsh reality of my life.
When our eyes locked on each other, I don’t know why I saw a hint of sadness, or was it just my imagination?
“No matter what happens, always remember that I love you, Chandria.” He whispered as he slowly fill the distance between us, and our lips met. I felt all the butterflies celebrating inside, with my cheeks surely flushing red right now.
After the kiss, my forehead slowly grim in line as I remembered what he said.
“What are you saying?” I asked.
“You know that my dad is a good friend of the former Alpha Nickolaus right?” He asked before I felt his soft hands on mine, as he gently dragged me to the bench, right in front of the serened sea.
“Yeah, and your father always pressure you to be the Alpha of the Silver Mist Pack.” I continued.
Silenced fills us after that. But I was taken aback by his heavy sighs.
“Is there something wrong?” I quickly asked. It was like something was bothering him.
“I-I’m sorry C-Chandria.” The only words that escaped his mouth before he stands up and turn his back.
“A-Alpha Primo.” I was about to chase him as confusion started to reign in my system, but I felt other werewolves’ presence running towards me. My eyes slowly widened to see Alpha Primo’s men handcuffing me as soon as they reached.
“H-Hey what is this all about?! What are you doing?” I hysterically asked.
I tried to look at Alpha Primo but he was halfway to the exit, not even throwing me a glance.
What’s going on?
“We’re arresting you, Chandria Raccini for trying to attempt to kill the future Luna of Silver Mist Pack, Chantal Raccini. You have all the rights to remain silent until the Alpha of the pack decides your final verdict.”
