Waking up as the sun struck my face, and the blue skies greeted me. I forced myself to stand as I tried to remember how I got here. It seemed like I was in the middle of nowhere.
But then I remember them, Chantal, Alpha Primo, and my parents, who hated me to the core and who were hunting me to be punished. A bitter smile escaped my lips and I looked up again to suppress myself from crying. I should have known better, Chantal would never change, and it would be just a waste of tears. I've spent my whole life crying because of her.
Tall green trees surrounded me, I don't know anymore if this is the right path to the Black Stygian pack. I have to be back before the time allowance that Priam gave me or else Celestine will be in danger.
As I heard my stomach scream for a solid. that, I bit my lip and looked everywhere. Maybe there's something I could eat here. After all, I'm in the middle of the forest. My eyes then remained on the ripened mangoes on that tall tree. I swallowed the lump in my throat, my tummy was still howling and all I wanted was to get at least one of those. Maybe I should try climbing it to fill my stomach? Do I have a choice anyway? I smiled as I battled with those small voices in my head and made my way to that tree.
I think I've climbed a tree before. This should be easy. After a thousand hours, I grinned widely when I noticed I was halfway on one of the branches. But my smirk slowly fades as I step onto the next branch and it breaks.
"Aaah!"
I thought I'd fall onto the tough ground and would get broken bones, but I was surprised to meet those green eyes and his cold face. When I get back to my senses, I quickly flinch from the warm strong arms that forbid me from falling.
"T-Thank you!" I bowed in embarrassment.
"Are you that hungry that you'll risk your life for that mango?" His baritone voice was too soothing to hear. When I met his gaze, his dark green eyes locked on mine again. And I just noticed how perfectly sculptured his face is.
"Staring is a sin. Woman."
I quickly looked away. Why does he possess that dominating yet charming aura?
"You're blushing." He quickly commented that, making me glare at him.
"Why would I huh?"
There he chuckled. His perfect white teeth showed up this time. I wanted to curse myself for giving compliments on his physique when I was acting the opposite on the outer side.
"Your cheeks are just as red as they are."
My eyes widened and turned my back, as I slowly lifted my hands and let my palms touch my face, shame ate me. I feel hot, and I'm sure what this guy said wasn't a lie.
When I turned my back again to face him, he was gone. I roamed my eyes but he was nowhere to be found. Until something dropped on the ground and when I looked at it, my eyes lit up to see that it was a ripe mango.
"You look great when you smile." A familiar voice speaks, and when I look up there he was. He just jumped off the ground.
"What? You'll just stare at me again. You should eat."
"Seems like you'll collapse any minute. You have dark circles around your eyes and your lips were too pale." He added that, made me look away. I look pitiful probably.
"There's also a trace of mud on your face and dress. Did you run away from your pack, huh?"
"And what if I do?" I shot back and just focused on the mango and started digging in.
"From what pack?" He asked. He seemed not to know Chantal or even our pack's existence.
"Silver Mist." I plainly replied.
"Oh, that pack was quite familiar. Though why did you run away?"
Can he just shut his mouth? He was too talkative for males, or I was just used to being treated coldly. On second thought, I decided to answer his question.
"Because I don't belong there." I think I should stop hoping that I'll get the family I've been craving in that pack.
I look at him and met his gaze. "Thanks for saving my life earlier, and for that," I added as I lifted the mango that was almost done.
"Let's separate ways."
Turning my back, my eyes slowly widened when five brown werewolves greeted me with their long canines all showing up. Their saliva was all drooling down, and their eyes were piercing at me.
"Seems like we won't be able to separate ways for now." I felt his presence beside me but my eyes were just settled on these ravenous werewolves.
They seemed to be not from my pack as, judging from their aura, they were wanting to make our flesh tear into pieces.
"Do you run fast?" I heard him ask again. This time I glanced at him and my forehead creased, seeing him so calm. Why couldn't I trace any hint of fear from him? It's two versus five and we will surely be outnumbered by them.
I hope he will come again. My eyes slowly widened, did I just think of Priam?
"You ready?" He asked as my eyes shifted to the werewolves who were stepping forward.
"You owe me one after this." Taken aback when he uttered those words, I hadn't processed his words yet when he suddenly shifted to a huge black wolf.
His size is almost like Priam's. Oh, f*ck am I thinking of him again? You're ridiculous Chandria.
As his red eyes pierced through me, he slowly bowed down motioning me to climb onto him.
"I-I'll ride you?" I asked. But since I don't have a wolf yet, I wouldn't be able to hear his answers. And I'm a fool for asking such useless question.
But that seemed to be the situation and I quickly moved on top of him as one of the werewolves jumped off to attack us. I almost hugged his silky black fur when he started running fast, fleeing for our lives.
I could feel my two boobs grinding on him, and my face instantly heated despite the strong air coming our way because of his speed.
"F*ck it, c-can you p-please slow down?!"
