CHAPTER 5 : Scarlet-Eyed Werewolf

1097 Words
“D-don’t come near me!” I menaced, trying to firm my voice despite the havoc I was feeling inside. If I'm the most unlucky werewolf in our pack, I will be their dinner tonight. I swallowed a lump in my throat before stepping back as they move forward. “I-I’m the Luna of the Silver Mist Pack!” I exclaimed, this is my last resort. They might not notice that easily that I’m not Chantal. Besides, the truth of us being twins only lingers inside the pack, the other pack doesn’t have any idea about it. But they didn’t seem to hear a thing. Their hungry faces remained, their saliva was flowing out of their mouths like they were craving a delicious meal in front of them and this didn’t feel any good. “No!” I closed my eyes when the three of them attacked me. I was expecting their fangs to dig into my skin, but it’s quite strange that I didn’t feel anything. I slowly opened my eyes just to see a huge black werewolf blocking them, and when he glanced at me, I was shocked and mesmerized at the same time to see his scarlet eyes glimmering. A werewolf with scarlet eyes? Damn, I haven’t seen one since birth. He isn’t from our pack as well, I’m sure of that. I was startled when he started growling deeper, as he moved his feet toward the three rogues, even though they were three, their sizes are nothing compared to this huge black wolf. And when I saw a hint of fear from the rogues' eyes, I was certain of their next moves. They will run away. The huge black werewolf was about to attack them, but they quickly flew out of this place, leaving us two alone. They ran away as expected. This werewolf isn’t just a typical immortal. I don’t need my wolf to notice his power and dominance. “T-Thank you.” The only words that escaped my lips after recovering from what happened. But the latter didn’t seem to care about it as he jumped out of this place without even glancing at me or saying a word. What an ass? He should at least say welcome, right? I sighed, don’t be a fool Chandria. He helped you. You should be thankful rather than thinking something bad about him, or else you’re completely f*ck up at this moment if he doesn't come. I’m still lucky, aren’t I? My eyes widened when I just noticed my surroundings. Oh, damn, it’s getting dark already. I think I only have a few minutes remaining before the darkness fully took the light, so I ran back to the pack. I should be in my jail before Chantal paid a visit, or else I'd be on an empty stomach again. But my forehead creased when the whole pack was in chaos. What’s going on? I discretely walked toward the two women talking. “Have you heard that the rogues were able to break the lock of their cage?” “Really? Then was Luna aware of this? The Alpha isn’t around. Should she take the lead in hunting the rogues?” Rogues? Was it the three rogues I encountered? So were they in possession of the pack? “But how would they be able to break the lock? It’s kind of impossible. They are made of golden chains, and this is the first time in this case.” “Are you saying that someone freed them up?” The other one asked. They were trying to minimize their voices and I wasn’t able to hear their conversation anymore. I had just decided to go back to my jail when I saw my twin sister talking with one of the Alpha's men. They seemed to be hiding and not letting everyone know that they were there, and not like the idea of someone hearing their conversation. “No one should know about this, especially the Alpha.” Chantal’s voice was menacing as she glared at the man. “You didn’t see or hear anything, understand?” She added, completely shutting the latter off. What are they talking about? Because of curiosity, I decided to hide in the corner a bit distant from them, yet I still hear their conversation. I felt something was strange, whenever my twin was involved. Because I’ve known her most above everyone else, I am the only one who can witness the true Chantal, because in front of them, especially our parents, she’s an angel. She's using that face and her perfect smile as a facade of her rotten soul. “But why did you do that, Luna? Why did you free those rogues and order them to kill your twin sister?” My eyes slowly widened because of what I'd heard. “It’s completely none of your business. Say a word about it again and I’ll kill your family.” So was it her order why those rouges couldn’t be tamed and too eager to kill me? I didn’t think that she’ll go this far. What is she up to this time? She became the Luna already, and I became their slave. Wasn’t that enough for her? She still wants me dead? A tear fell from my eyes, and I quickly glided it away. I shouldn’t be crying. But isn’t it too much? There is only one blood running in our veins. I’m her sister, not even a half one, but-a full-blooded, yet she hates me to the core. “Are we clear here?" My eyes darted at her. There's not even a single sign of remorse for what she did. "Y-Yes Luna." The man bowed his head before bidding his words goodbye. "Oh wait..." Chantal stopped him. "If things get worse, take all the blame. Confess to everyone that it was you who unchained the cage of those rouges." "W-What?" The man looked at her in disbelief, his eyes were furious but they quickly faded as Chantal glared at her. "That's if things got out of hand. But if you keep your mouth shut, then we won't have any problem at all." Chantal replied and gave him a pat on his back. The latter still nods despite how worried he is. "What is the problem you're talking about, Luna Chantal? Why should my man shut his mouth?" I bit my lip when hearing the familiar voice. No, I can't be mistaken. I have tended to adore those voices for two freaking years. Alpha Primo is back. The king has returned.
