As the woman was fully gone out of his presence, Priam shifted to his wolf. A huge black werewolf, with a scarlet eye as he runs inside the forest, fast and agile. The ground almost shook with the strength and force he was releasing.
When he reached the peak of the mountain where he could see the whole pack, his eyes darted at the woman who was talking to Celestine. It was clear to his vision how the woman smiled. It is one of the abilities of his eyes, he could see clearly from a distance. His jaw clenched in wrath.
‘She deserves to die.’
‘I’ll show no mercy towards them.’
‘Those who killed you, father.’
‘They will pay for it, thrice the pain they’ve cost me.’

Returning to the pack, I caught their attention again, but they quickly removed their gaze. Even the woman earlier glared at me.
“Chandria!” It was Celestine who waved her hands at me. What the hell is she doing outside of her abode?
“You are supposed to rest, Celestine.” I greeted her with those words, but she only threw me a smile.
“I heard what happened.” She retaliated, as she led the way back inside her home, and I followed her.
“You almost die again.” She added.
I heaved a deep sigh. “She’s right anyway. I don’t belong here, I only cause trouble for your pack.”
“Besides, whenever everyone sees me here, probably they remember that I came from the pack whose Alpha killed their great leader,” I added and looked away.
“So when does that part become your fault? The only flaw with that was you came from that pack, but aside from that, nothing else. You’re not accountable for your Alpha’s wrongdoings. You shouldn’t be condemned to death because of it.” Celestine’s voice was calm and gentle, good enough to soothe me. But it won’t change the fact that there should be a life to offer in exchange for the life that we took. It’s either me or my twin sister.
“I completely disagree that either you or your twin sister has to suffer for your life. It should be your Alpha to be responsible for it, he was the root of all this chaos.” Celestine answered in a matter-of-fact tone.
“But that’s impossible. I know Alpha Primo’s capability. No one can kill him. He’s untameable whenever his wolf is triggered.” I uttered. I still remember that night when he was planning to mark me, I couldn’t recognize him anymore. He’s not the Primo that I fell in love with.
“Well, Alpha Priam doesn’t have scarlet eyes for nothing, Chandria.” That made me look at her.
“Those eyes carry an ability that none of us could ever imagine.”
I know there’s something in his eyes that makes him superior to us. The dominance he possesses isn’t coming from his title of being an Alpha, there’s more of it.
“So, if ever the paths of the two crossed again, only one of them will remain alive. If both have a huge grudge against each other, either the Siver Mist or the Black Stygian will lose an Alpha.” She added, making me nod. It’s not impossible.
“However, that will take time to happen, so you have no choice but to stick with your agreement with Alpha Priam.”
“Or…” she paused, like weighing her next words if it had to be said.
“Or?”
“If you could kill Alpha Primo, that’s better.” Terror slowly fills me.
“N-No, I can’t do that.” I quickly replied, just by the thought of it, it was impossible to happen.
“You can, Chandria. Time will come, and you’ll end his life in your own hands.”
“Are you talking about the prophecy again?” I asked.
She shrugged, forbidding to answer my question. “For now, just focus on your task first. Who would know what will happen soon? But one thing is for sure, someone will be gaining power, to end evilness. A lot will change, so be ready for that change.”
She left me with those words puzzled.
‘Why does she have to make her sentences complicated to understand?’
As I watched her disappear from my vision, that made me think if the prophecy was true, as she didn’t answer me straight, or if she only made it up to save me from the edge of death.
When my eyes landed on the kitchen from the corner, I smiled. Maybe I should do something to be distracted. I haven’t been cooking for quite a short while, so this would be a perfect diversion.
I walked near the fridge. I was a bit hesitant about whether I'd open it as Celestine wasn’t around. I should ask permission first, but she seemed to be having a rest so I’ll just tell her later. When I opened it, there were meats and vegetables inside, and I shouldn’t have been surprised. I knew this pack was wealthy enough to provide for their needs, so I quickly took two pieces of sliced meat for the two of us. I wonder if Alpha Priam has a maid or cook.
‘ Of course, he does, Chandria. What kind of question is that?’
‘He’s the Alpha, technically someone will serve him.’
I shook my head at such sarcasm in my thoughts. I just continued to cut the vegetables and the ingredients into tiny pieces. I hope Celestine will like what I am about to cook for her. This would be the last thing I could do for all she had gone thru because of me.
I paused for a moment when I forgot what to put first into the pot of boiling water.
“Put the meat first…”
I missed noticing a new presence behind me, but my eyes widened at the familiar voice. When I faced her to confirm...
“R-Rosa?” I was right, she’s the head cook in the mansion of the Silver Mist pack. What is she doing here in Celestine's house?
“You seemed surprised, didn’t you?”
“The meat should soften first before you put the vegetables in.” She added, took the plate of fresh meat on the table, and did the work for me, while I was still stunned.
‘Did I miss out on something?’
‘What’s going on?’ I asked myself.
“So my hint was right. It was you that I was about to train to be the Luna of the Silver Mist pack. It’s good to see you again, Chandria.”
