Three days had passed, and we could still feel the grief in the pack. After I collapsed in front of Rosa’s grave, I woke up on my bed already. Celestine told me that it was Falcon who brought me to my room.
“Chandria, are you sure that your leg doesn’t hurt anymore?” Celestine asked with her worried face as usual.
“Of course, don’t worry about me Celestine. Have you forgotten that my doctor is beautiful and great?” I shot back.
“Silly, I was just wondering, it’s only been three days…”
“I’m fine, Celestine. Really,” I smiled genuinely, and hoping it would work this time.
“The sun is getting hotter; we should leave now.” I reminded her. She heaved a sigh before giving me a nod.
“Alright, if your legs started to cramp, just tell me, okay?”
After jailing myself inside of my room for three days, I decided to go out with Celestine, and come with her to the public market.
“Here, cover yourself.” She handed me a thin cloth, wide enough to cover my face.
“Who knows, someone from the Silver Mist might see you.” She added.
“Yes ma’am.” I didn’t argue with it anymore, she’s right anyway. We entered the car, and Falcon started to drive to our destination.
It was a nostalgic feeling for me, before it was Rosa who I was with…
“Stop thinking about her, Chandria. She’s happy wherever she is right now.” I bit my lip, I can’t stop myself from thinking about her.
“Celestine, Calista sent me a message…” Falcon suddenly speaks.
“What is it?”
“Rosa’s daughter, Britanny wants to come with us.”
“Oh…”
Celestine looks at me concern, “Was it fine with you?” She asked. To be honest, not really, I don’t know how I will face her. Our last encounter was that day, and I’m still embarrassed to talk or even cross path with her.
“you don’t have to ask me that Celestine.” I smiled and gave her a nod.
“Make a U-turn Falcon.” Celestine ordered the man who quickly obeyed.
“I think you two should talk, though it’s still early for that, and the wound was still fresh. It would be better if you’ll fix your issue with each other, before Britanny goes back to Chicago.”
“I-I’ll try to talk to her.” I replied, even though I don’t know how or if she’ll talk to me back because I know she’s still deeply mad.
When the car stops, I tried my best not to be bothered when Britanny entered the car. She sat on the passenger’s seat, beside Falcon, and gave us a cold stare using the mirror in front, or it would be better to say that it was only for me. She turned her face, “Hi, Celestine.”
She smiled to the woman next to me pretending that she didn’t see me. I just shrugged it off and look away. This day will surely be a long one.
When we arrived at the public market, “Why don’t you guys go for a walk first? While I buy some needs in the mansion, take your time because I have a long list here to accomplish!” Celestine showed us a long vertical paper with a lot of stuff written on it.
“I should go! Falcon come with me. See you later!”
“Celestine uhm wait…” She didn’t even bother to turn around, as she continued walking her way somewhere dragging Falcon with her.
Leaving me with this woman, who doesn’t seem to care, when I glance at her, she only gave me a smirk…
“Celestine probably were setting up to tame the fire between us but unfortunately…”
“That won’t happened.” She continued.
“If you don’t want her to keep bugging you, why don’t we just act that we’re fine when we were in the pack?” She suggested.
“It’s either you’ll agree to it, or she’ll always annoys us to fix this when we both know that it’s impossible.” She continued.
“And please, I don’t want to hear that lousy sorry of yours because it won’t work Sier… Chandria.”
Rolling her eyes, she turned her back and I just watch her walk a few more steps when she stops…
“Are you just going to stand there? C’mon I need a chaperon to carry my things. I’ll be needing to buy a lot of stuff, since I think I’ll be staying in the pack for a few more couple of weeks.”
After saying those words she left me, and I was left stunned.
“She’ll stay in the pack? To get revenge on me?” Seems like it’s not only Alpha Priam who wants to see me suffering.
“Why don’t you walk faster? I still have a lot of stuff to buy, are you a turtle or what?” Britanny sounded pissed while I’m having a hard time carrying all the paper bags of things she bought.
When we entered a shoe store, I sat on the near bench inside while Britanny roam. My legs were already hurting, but I’m doing this to at least to lessen the guilt I have, or I just hope so it was that easy.
While resting, my eyes got stacked at the pair of gold-looking heels, it has an elegant and well-intricated design on it.
But I was taken aback when a long fingers touch and lift it. Regret fills me in, it feels like my heart was hook by that heels and maybe I should’ve called Celestine and ask her to lend me money, but where am I going to used it when I’ll just end up being slave of the pack?
When I traced the person who will buy it, it was Britanny who’s grinning widely at me. She turns her back without saying a word carrying the heels on her left hand. Slapping me with the reality that I’m not the daughter of the former Luna anymore, who can buy whatever I want, rather a slave who should suit herself to a pair of old slippers for her to comfortably work her ass off.
“What the hell are you sitting there? Get up!” Britanny exclaimed that took a couple of the customers attention inside the shop. My face turned red ashamed as I stand up and pick up all the paper bags I’ve been carrying for about two hours.
“Wait, is there a band performing out there?” She asked to herself and slowly walks at the group of people who were having fun in the center.
“Oh my God, is this the Star Band?”
“Britanny let’s go home!” I exclaimed, but she doesn’t seem to hear anything as my voice mixed up with the crowd’s cheers. I sighed in frustration and just glance at the performer on the stage. The audience were getting wild while Britanny sings along with them.
Seems like I don’t have any option but to get along with these people, while my legs and hands were both hurting.
But my eyes suddenly settled at the familiar built of a man, from a mere distance.
Alpha Primo, is here. What is he doing here? Is this his new hobby now? Was Chantal with him?
My heart started to race fast, and held tightly at the cloth that covers my face.
“So who would be the lucky girl tonight that we will serenade huh?” The crowd became more loud yet my mind was in havoc, should I run and leave Britanny here?
“Here! There’s a pretty girl here!” My eyes widened when Britanny suddenly held my hand, as she waves it in the air taking everyone’s attention.
‘Oh no.’
