CHAPTER 7 : The Conversation

1388 Words
“The Luna ordered what?” The Alpha asked. “Ahm…” “I just asked Tifanny to train Chandria for multitasking so she could be our cook soon.” Chantal appeared from behind with a small smile on her lips. Alpha Primo gave her a confusing look. “I thought you don’t want your twin sister to be our chief?” He asked. “Oh things have changed, I just thought she can’t poison both of us. We’re important to her, right?” Chantal asked shifting her glance at me this time. I know she’s just saying all those things so she could get thru with ordering Tiffany to give me multiple tasks that are impossible to finish in just one snap, so she could blame me or trigger something that will put me in a critical situation. But instead of voicing it all out, I just nodded. “W-We’ll prepare the breakfast as fast as we could, please enjoy your meals.” I bowed my head and turn around. Alpha Primo was the one confusing me, I don’t want to give myself high hopes but why does he sound concerned? Either way, I just move as if nothing happened and put all the dishes Tiffany prepared on the dining table. After that, I went upstairs to clean the visitor's room and went to the mini library after. Of all the places inside their mansion, this is my favorite one. As soon as I entered the room, I’ve seen my reflection in the huge mirror inside. I was wearing a slave dress and looked dirty, but still, I smiled and shifted my gaze at the books inside. But one book suddenly caught my attention. The book was scintillating and I was fascinated by it. I’ve entered this room so many times yet I haven’t noticed this one. But then the glistens suddenly disappeared. Was I just imagining? But I’m sure I saw it. I walk slowly towards it and took the book, it looks old and dirty, I wipe the dust on its thick cover that seemed to be made of wood’s skin, and slowly read what’s engraved on it. “The Cursed T-Tattoo?” But I quickly put it back on the shelf when I heard steps getting louder. I quickly hid behind the shelf when the door suddenly opened. “So you are the one who released the rouges? And ordered them to kill Chandria huh?” “I-I don’t know what you are talking about A-Alpha!” Chantal’s voice was trembling. Maybe I should teach her how to be calm in such a situation. To be honest, she’s losing her composure whenever she was being confronted by Alpha Primo. I’m taking back that I said that she was blessed to be good at lying. “Aren’t you satisfied yet? Why do you have to do that?” “I-I don’t know what you’re talking…” “Stop lying!” My eyes widened when Alpha Primo suddenly shouted at her. “Stop fooling around Chantal. You may deceive everyone but not me.”Alpha Primo uttered firmly. It was a moment of silence between them, and I could see rage suddenly filling Chantal’s eyes. “Yes! I ordered to kill her! And yes I ordered Tiffany to give Chandria multiple tasks so she could make a mistake and I could kick her out of the mansion!” She suddenly burst out. “Do you know why? Ask me why!?” But Alpha Primo seemed to be not surprised at all and forbade himself to show any emotion at all. “Because you kept worrying about her! I know that you made her our slave so you could keep an eye on her!” My eyes widened, that’s absurd. Alpha Primo doesn’t give a damn about me anymore, I’m sure he only acts that way because he pities me, and he's guilty of abandoning me. “You still love her do you?” Chantal asked all of a sudden which made me suddenly stunned. How did Chantal know that? I felt conscious at the same time of what Alpha Primo would be about to reply. “Answer me!” “Let’s end this conversation here.” Alpha Primo turned his back, forbidding to answer her question, but there’s something inside me that wants to hear him say those words. “So you still love her huh.” “Why? I am your Luna now…she shouldn’t have a place in that heart…” “I said, end of the conversation.” “Why can’t you just say it huh?” “Tell the f*ck in front of me so I could understand!” Alpha Primo suddenly turned around to face her again. His face was still blank. “What in the world can’t you understand that I still care for her? She’ll always have a special place here…” He pointed his chest as he look straight into her eyes. I can’t see any traces of lies. “So don’t dare to touch her again.” My heart thumped hearing those words from the Alpha. Does he still care for me? “Yeah, I knew it! But I’m your Luna, so it is your duty to focus on me, not her. She’s our slave now.” “Still, I am the Alpha, Chantal. I have the power to oust you, and put your twin sister on the throne.” Alpha Primo menaced. “But we both knew that you can’t do that.” Chantal grinned as she walked closer to him. “You don’t want to disappoint your father, and get dethroned right?” Chantal whispered, but since the library was a closed space, I’d clearly heard that. “Before you oust me, I’ve already flipped the last card I have. And you’ll fall with me.” She added, still wearing that smirk like she was too confident it will happen. But what is she talking about this time? “What? You didn’t delete the video yet do you?” Alpha asked unbelievably. “We have an agreement, Chantal!” He exclaimed. “Oh, do you think I’ll delete it that easily? I’m not that slow-witted. I’m sure you are too eager to make her the Luna once you’ve confirmed that the proof that might drag you down was fully gone!” “Unfortunately, the video was still with me, Alpha Primo.” Alpha Primo’s face darkened but terrified at the same time. What video would it be? “You don’t have a word, Chantal.” Alpha Primo's calm voice feels a threat to me. “Well, at least you can’t pull that card on me, that you’re the Alpha. I still have a tight grip on your neck and you can’t do anything about it but obey what I wanted.” “No, Chantal.” “What?” “Show it to the pack then.” He answered before letting out a creepy smile. “So aren’t you afraid to lose your title as Alpha?” Chantal asked unbelievably. “You can’t be trusted at all Chantal…” “Remember that you fooled your parents, and deceived the whole pack by accusing your twin sister of killing you when it was the other way around. What would be their reaction if you let your innocent twin sister suffer behind bars and be enslaved by us when you were supposed to be in her position? I witnessed what you did Chantal, and I could testify to prove it. Plus you freed up those dangerous rouges that could be a threat not just in our pack but also to the other pack, if someone got killed because of those rouges, we both know that there’s no one to blame but you. The punishment for what you did is lifetime imprisonment, and the former Alpha and Luna will be very disappointed that their favorite child did such a horrible thing, knowing that she’s a Luna. So before you could use me further, I’ll drag you with me.” Alpha Primo leaned toward her next to her ear. “Let’s just fall together then, Chantal, and get rid of those titles before our name. Face the consequence of our greediness just to get the power we have right now.”
