I didn’t answer any more calls that kept coming through. I took the long seven hour drive back to New Orleans. I didn’t like this idea but I didn’t really have any other choice either if I wanted him back… alive. By the time I pulled up in front of my old home, my eyes were burning and I was ready for bed. Just a few hours of sleep, I told myself.
I dragged myself in the front door. I knew I wasn’t going to make it up to my old room, all of my memories were already flooding back. I threw myself on the couch before sleep consumed me.
I woke up in the dark, the sun just passed setting. I rolled over, looking at the ceiling. I didn’t want to do this. I didn’t want to go see the big, bad wolf. But I sighed, standing up anyways. I made my way to my room, noticing that my old phone was still sitting on my bed. I plugged it in while I jumped in the shower quickly.
When I was finished, I picked the phone up. It still worked. I laughed to myself… of course, it did. There was no service on it, but that didn’t stop me from looking through all the missed texts and calls before it was disconnected. I made a mental note to start it back up.
It was time.
I got in my car and drove to the only place I knew Gabriel Silver would always be. I parked in front of the bar’s door, taking deep breaths before going in. The door chimed, signaling the bartenders that someone new had arrived. The place was packed full. I made my way to the bar, raising my hand to grab someone’s attention. “A shot of tequila, please.”
The bartender nodded and set off. I needed something strong if I was going to make it through this meeting, let alone the rest of the night. The bartender put the shot in front of me, telling me it was on the house. Who am I to turn down free alcohol?
I took my shot and leaned over the bar, “I need to see Mr. Silver.” I said.
The bartender’s eyes widened and he took a step back. “No one asks to see him.”
“Well,” I said. “I’m desperate. His office still in the same place?”
He nodded. I turned towards the entrance leading into the back. Taking a deep breath, I walked passed the curtains. The hall was empty. I walked to the end, when I saw security standing outside Gabriel’s office door. “Is he in there?” I asked.
“Who are you? Mr. Silver is busy.”
“Tell him Nora is here. He’ll know who I am.”
I was trying to keep my resolve but my confidence was slipping. The guard was talking into his ear piece while looking at me. When he was done, he pointed up to the top right corner. “Look there.”
I did, noticing a small red dot flickering. I narrowed my eyes, knowing he was watching me the whole time. “Let me in.” I said to the camera.
The guard opened the door. I took one last deep breath and walked in his office. It was dark, only one little lamp turned on the desk. His shoes were crossed on top of it. I could feel his eyes on me, but I couldn’t see any other part of him. “What do you want, Nora?”
I didn’t answer. I stood there looking at his feet. The confidence I had up until this point was completely wavering, just the sound of his voice had my panties wet. What was wrong with me…
He put his feet down, standing up behind the desk. I could feel his predatory eyes looking me up and down. Slowly, he walked to the other side of the desk, leaning on the edge and crossing his arms.
He was still as gorgeous as ever. He’s certainly grown up, although so have I. His hair was curled slightly atop his head. His jaw was prominent, with a 5 o’clock shadow showing. His arms were completely covered in tattoos and you could see his muscles flexed. His shirt was fitted, tucked into his dress pants and leaving nothing to the imagination. His thick thighs were muscular too, straining against his pant legs.
I looked back at his face, seeing his eyes darken as he took me in the same way I did him. “I need your help,” I whispered.
His eyes met mine, laughter showing in them. “You came all this way just to ask for me help? Why would I possibly want to help you, Nora?”
I gulped. “Someone took my father. I need you to get him back.”
He took several steps towards me, causing me to back up into the door. He didn’t stop until I could feel his breath on my face. “And what makes you think I would help you after all this time? You’re a nobody to me, after all.”
I sucked in a breath. I knew he was lying, for the simple fact he spent 3 of the last 5 years looking for me. I squared my shoulders and raised my chin a bit higher. “I will give you anything you want.”
His head tipped back and he laughed. Taking a step back, he bent to put his hands on his knees while he continued his deep, belly laugh. I didn’t move or make a sound.
Once his laughter died out he stepped closer to me again. He raised his hand to caress my cheek. Moving his hand down, he gently held my throat, squeezing slightly. He kept trailing down to my dress strap, slipping it down over my shoulder.
My entire body was trembling. I was afraid, but not of him. I was afraid of what he was doing to me. He was igniting in me feelings no one has ever made me feel before. My own boyfriend didn’t give me these sensations, and that’s partly why I never slept with him.
His hand trailed even lower, resting on my hip. He bent slightly, bringing his face beside my neck. My heart rate increased with him so close to me. I was waiting for him to kiss my shoulder, anticipating how good his lips would feel against my skin.
Gabriel was moving slow on purpose, waiting to see how my body reacted to his. He must’ve gotten exactly what he wanted, because he straightened and pulled away from me, leaving my panties a wet mess between my legs and my face a bright shade of red.
“You said you’ll do anything?” I nodded. He backed up until he was sitting against his desk again. “Take your dress off.”
My eyes widened in surprise. He couldn’t be serious. His eyebrow quirked upwards and he motioned his hand as if to tell me to get on with it.
Tears sprang to my eyes but I knew I couldn’t let them fall. I wouldn’t let them out in front of him. If I was going to fall apart, I was going to do it where no one would see me. I reached down and grabbed the edge of my dress. Lifting it slowly, I took it off over my head and dropped it on the floor beside me. My hands were shaking so bad, I clenched them into tight fists.
He looked me up and down, not bothering to hide his appreciation for my breasts in my black lace bra. I crossed my arms in front of me trying to hide, unintentionally pushing my t**s together.
“Turn around.” I slowly spun until I was facing the door. “Take off your panties.”
I froze. “No.”
I heard his feet shuffle closer to me before he bent and whispered in my ear. “If you want my help, you’ll take your panties off.”
One single tear slipped down my cheek. He had me right where he wanted me, and we both knew it. I hooked my thumbs around the waist band of my thong. As I was about to pull them down, he grabbed both of my wrists, pinning them above my head against the door.
I let out a small shriek. One of his gigantic hands held mine together, while his other hand came down around my waist. He was exploring my curves without touching anything intimate, causing goosebumps to form all over my skin. He quickly let go of my hands and moved away. “Put your dress back on and get out.”
I turned towards him. “What! But I need your help.”
I picked up my dress off the ground, throwing it over my head. I walked closer to the desk, resting my hands on top. “Gabriel… I need your help. I don’t know how else to get him back.”
“Marry me.” He said. I stood, shocked. This entire situation was crazy to begin with, but now this? “You have 24 hours to give me your answer. Now get out, I’m late for a meeting.”
He left me standing there in his office.
