Transitioning

Dinna POV

I wake up from my dream and immediately went to the bathroom to look at the mirror. My eyes were still blue and i don't have any fangs. Phewww Thank Goodness its just a dream. But it felt so real plus the woman behind me looks like an older version of me. Except that she has a blonde and straight hair. I keep looking at my eyes in the mirror to see if it would change color but I've been waiting for like 20 minutes now. I'm crazy I thought to myself that was just a dream why would I wait for my eyes to become like that.

I look at my outfit and its still the dress that i wore in the party, ugh I'm never going back to that club ever. I started removing my dress and opening the shower to take a bath, get myself clean and go downstair to eat because I am really starving. I wonder what time is it now,once I'm done I wrap towels on my body and my hair and went to the closet. I wore a simple oversized shirt and a short, i glance at the time and it's now 4:00 in the afternoon. I went downstair and started to look for food in the kitchen, I saw spaghetti and fried chicken and put them in my plate, I went to sit on the sofa and turn on the television. I started to watch the twilight then i suddenly remember the books I bought from the bookstore. I'll clean and read them later.

I'm half way the movie when I heard a knock on the door, I look at the clock and its already 5pm, who would come to visit at this time my parents would usually come home at 7 or 8 in the evening. I put my plate down and went to open the door, but I saw no one, that's odd. I went outside and scan the left and right area of our frontyard to look if someone was messing with me but I didn't see anyone. As turn my heel to go inside i step into something, a box with my name on it and a little note.

Dear Dianna,

Here is my graduation gift for you, i want you to wear this before your graduation day and before your birthday. I will personally introduce my self If time will allow me to.

I was confused as who gave it to me, i open up the box and inside it is a necklace with pendant which is a little circle with grayish red color powder in it. I think its both magical and odd at the same time, the powder was like turning inside the circle. It's beautiful I'll wear it tomorrow to school.

I went to continue what I'm watching. When it's finish, i went to wash the dishes and went upstair to check on the books. I pick up the clean book first which entitled wolfs age. I started opening the first page there was a picture of a wolf with gray eyes.

At the side of it were written the word Alpha.

"gray" i whispered as i watch the picture closely, its a picture like a picture of what i think a decade ago. It's my first time looking at a picture of a wolf with gray eyes. I remember then the color of my eyes in my dream, it was grayish.

Throughout my thought a knock startled me. "honey are you there? Dinner is ready" my mom said. I glance at the watch and it's already 8 in the evening.

I went downstair and eat with them, after dinner I went to my room to brush my teeth and to clean myself. I'm sleepy, as i finish doing my night routine i went to bed and started to close my eyes and sleep.

I was awaken by the coldness in my room, I opened my eyes and saw my window was open. Oh i forgot to close it, the wind was blowing the curtain away and the light of the moon was piercing through my room. I went to my window and slightly open it to look at the moon. Its nearly full but its still bright, i look at the forest in front of us and i saw a red pair of eyes. I blink my eyes and closed it for 5 seconds, i might not be fully awake yet thats why im seeing things. I open my eyes again ang look at the direction, its a pair of decorative red light. I mentally laugh at myself how can i also see eyes that far.

I closed the window and i went back to sleep only 5 days to go for my graduation and my birthday, i smile.

1 day left before my graduation.

It was 9 in the evening and I am here in my room. I am preparing the dress I will wear tomorrow which i bought from town yesterday. It was a dark red dress and a backless one, i will pair it with a 3 inches red hills. I'm tired we had a long practice for graduation at school today. Why do i felt like something would happen and I wouldn't wear the dress tomorrow. I i shrugged the feeling and I went to the bathroom and do my night routine, i hang my necklace in the side of the mirror bathroom. Then I laid on my bed and I instantly felt asleep.

I felt an inch in the back of my head, my insides were hot and my skin was feeling cold. I opened my eyes and my window was open again. I was about to close it but i felt my stomach getting upset, I think I'm gonna be sick. I ran to the bathroom and throw up. I lift my head and saw the necklace that I hang. Someone whispered in my head, "wear it".

I stumbled at the words and the voice of a woman that talked to me. "trust me dianna, wear it" she said again. "who are you!?" i shouted. I'm getting scared, whats happening to me?! "dianna I'm Jane, your bestfriend, I'm a part of you" I was getting confused

"mom!! Dad!!" I shouted

"dianna, look at the mirror" Jane said

And when i look at the mirror my eyes were grayish red, my skin was getting lighter and lighter like I am dead! My fangs, i have fangs!

"no, no, no" i said hysterically. " this is just a dream!" i shouted while closing my eyes and crying, i shake my head roughly hoping i would wake up from this nightmare. "diana, diana" jane said again. I covered my ears with my hands hoping i wouldn't hear her again. " stop! This is a just nightmare!" i shouted again and cried.

"honey, honey!!" i heard my mom shouted from my bedroom door. "mom help me!" i shouted back. I rushed to open the door but i wasn't expecting myself to run like a flash at the door!. I stop from my track and i watch my feet in horror as to how did i do that. Tears started to come to my eyes again. I'm a monster! I opened the door and my parents gasp at how i look, grayish red eyes, brighter skin, and fangs!. Suddenly my body felt different, it felt like someone was controlling me. My eyes dilated and i felt like it changes colored. My fangs retracted. "Its me, her wolf Jane. Please give her the necklace that is in her bathroom mirror, this will calm her down. She shouldn't change before the full moon ." i hear myself say wuth different voice, or should i say it was jane. She's taken over me!.

My parents were shocked but they immediately gained theirselves and my mom ran to the bathroom and when she went out she was holding the necklace. She put it on me and I fell to the floor, gaining myself. Jane left me. "honey I'm sorry, i don't know you will transition so early" my mom told me and hugged me. My father was looking at the window for something and he sprinkled some powder on my window. Then to my bathroom and door. It was like he was putting it all over my room. " What's happening mom?" i weakly asked her. I felt my body becoming normal now but I felt so tired.

" I'll explain tomorrow honey, sleep for now" i want to ask more but my body was tired and also my mind, with that i fell asleep.

I wake up with my head pounding and my body felt heavy. It feels like 10 times the feeling of hang over. I tried remembering what happen and suddenly memories flash in my mind, i felt nervous and fear was all around my mind. Whats happening to me? I cried hysterically. "mom! Dad!" i shouted for them and in an instant they were at my bedroom door.

"oh honey, how are you feeling I'm sory you felt so scared" mom scooped me and hug me to her. "mom tell me its all a dream" i sobbed at her chest while my dad was rubbing my back.

" I think it's time for you to know honey" mom started telling me.

I look at her confused. " that" pointing at my necklace "was a necklace to prevent you on transitioning until the full moon, until the night of your birthday"

I felt angry. My parents knew something but they hide it from me. I push my mom and stand up on my own with the little strength that I have. I walk away from them with confusion and anger

"honey" she tried to come close to me but i held up my hand to stop her. "transition into what exactly?!" i asked angrily.

"A vampire wolf honey" mom looked at me sorry.

Tears started to ran down my eyes, no this is just a dream. I sobbed continuously.

"A hybrid" I whispered. That explains it the gray eyes of the wolf in the book and the red eyes of the vampire from my dream. My eyes were a combination of them, grayish red.

Mom nodded. I don't know what to do suddenly i felt an inch again at the back of my mind, heat started to consume my body and cold sweats started falling from my forehead. My skin beginning to look lighter and brighter.

"John, we need to put her to the basement" mom said to my dad.

I felt sick again. My parents carried me and they walk me to our basement door. My vision started becoming different, i started seeing even the smallest thing clearly. My vision getting sharper. They open the basement but then they opened a secret door that even i don't know about. It looks like a tunnel. We walk for about 5 mins and we reached an empty room. My dad push a button and its roof came to be open. I came to face with a full moon, it felt like its smilling at me. That's when i realize i hadn't attended my graduation and tonight is my birthday, my crazy surprise 18th birthday!

My dad sprinkled some powder again to all the room specially in the open roof above.

"dianna, removed your necklace" jane said again from my mind. My heat and becoming ten times hotter. But something was holding my fangs and eyes for turning.

"you'll be in less pain if you remover your necklace" jane said to me with concern. Because i wanted to be in less pain, i instantly pull my necklace and it felt like fire was on every inch of my skin. "ahhhh!!!!" i shouted

"mom, dad it hurts!!" i told my parents but they just look at me with symphathy in their eyes. I felt my eyes changing color, my vision getting sharp, I can see even our kitchen sink, my bedroom bed. I felt my fangs extended were i can even feel my lower lip bleeding due to its sharpness. My skin felt cold like I'm dead. And finally i felt a crack in my back. I arch my back in pain and i shouted in agony. "dianna, let me take control, it will make it easier" jane said and i felt like i needed to trust her. I let her take over and the next thing I knew, my body cracking at every inch, i continously shouted and cried. My nose elongated, sharp canines are coming out my mouth, and ears were growing from my head.

I was now standing in four feet. I saw my fur a grayish red color just like my eyes. I look at my parents and they are also crying, they came close to me but i back away. I'm afraid I might hurt them I'm a monster. I whined at them. " don't be afraid, I won't hurt" i realized jane was this wolf. I slowly approached my parents and they hugged me. I rubbed my fur against them.

"your wolf is beautiful honey" mom said.

I suddenly felt my tiredness and i turned back into a human again. My pajama was torn into pieces and i'm not wearing anything. My mom hugged me while my dad was holding a blanket and wrapped it around ny body. My vision getting blurer then darkness suddenly engulf me.

"Dianna", i heard someone whispered in my head

I was in an empty land where grass and trees was the only living things i saw. "Dianna" she whispered again. I look behind me and saw her. The most beautiful and unique wolf i ever saw. Thats when i realize its my wolf. "Jane?" i asked her. She licked me and I laughed. " this" she said in my head " is what we call as mindlink" oh i said and nod. "listen, don't blame your parents for not telling you, they will soon explain, just promise me you won't get angry at them" she said. I'm confused "i don't know, they didn't became honest with me, I trusted them the most" i answered her.

"you trusted them the most, thats why i want you to not be angry at them, promise me" she said while rubbing her head at my face. I smiled, this feels so natural after all. "i promise".

I wake up, my body and mind are tired but not tired like the last time. But my throat is dry, "water" i whispered and i felt my mom getting close to me and handed me water. My thirst hadn't left me, i look at my moms pulse as i can heard every rushed of blood in her hand, she turn her head to tell someone something but i can't understand it. My mind and eyes was fixed in her neck, i saw every blood flowing from it. Then my dad came close and he handed me a glass of red liquid. "wine?" i asked them confused. But it smells good. I took a sip and once the liquid touched my tongue, i can't help but to drink it all in an instant and i felt sharp fangs coming out my mouth The aching thirst in my throat was now slowly disappearing. That's when i realized it was blood. "Blood" i whispered and i suddenly let go of the glass and it shattered in the floor. "Im a monster!" i shouted while hugging my knees and crying.

"honey, look at me" my mom holding my face up and facing my face to her. "you are not a monster, you are still our sweet, kind and loving daughter"

"daughter?" i asked her with venom in my voice. " your human" i look at her and dad "your both human!". I'm so confused and hurt, all my life i thought they were my real parents, i thought this life was my real life.

"We are witches honey, were hunters" my mom said to me with sadness in her eyes.

"what?" i asked confused

"We are hunters, we hunt vampires and wolves, rouges especially, that don't obey the law." I blink at what she said. I thought that only happen in the books that I read. I didn't thought that it would be real and it would personally happen to me.

"honey i want to explain more but i need you to eat first" mom said and motioning me to eat the porksteak that was beside my bed. I want to say no but my mouth became watery and my stomach rumble.

Oh my it felt like I didn't ate in days.

"what date is it today mom?" i asked my mom while taking the porksteak. I need to trust them that's what Jane told me and I promised her I will

"Its June 26 honey" i look at her with wide eyes.

"what?! I've been asleep for 4 days?!" my birthday was on june 22 and thats the day I transitioned.. My mom nodded. Thats why I'm so hungry I thought to myself. I started eating and when I'm finish I saw my dad sprinkling some powder again in my window and in my room.

" Ah, Dad? " then Dad turn his head to me. " yes honey?"

"whats that? I saw you sprinkling it since the day I transitioned" i said pointing at the powder he was holding. He finished what he was doing and came close to me. "This will cover your scent honey, so that vampires and wolves can't sense you"

"why?, I mean I'm one of them why can't they know?" I asked confused.

My dad look at me.

"Honey, werewolves and vampires has not been on good terms, your a hybrid half of each of their kind. Your the only hybrid that had survive honey, we still don't know if they will accept you or not"

"what happen if they don't?" i asked anxiously

"they will kill you honey" I gasp, my life is becoming more and more horrifying.
