The brumby stallion snorted and reared, his silver mane shining like the glittering crest of a wave. Levi stood back and admired his prize. Damn, that horse was beautiful, even lovelier than their current palomino sire, Phoenix. Levi had named the horse Thowra, after the mysterious stallion in Elyne Mitchell’s famous Silver Brumby books. He and his boss, Drew, had been trying to capture him for months, and yet last night Thowra had simply appeared in the small dam paddock, doubtless meaning to entice the brood mares away under cover of darkness.
